Flying High: British Airways Resumes Flights to Bangkok from Gatwick
Exciting news for travellers! British Airways has officially resumed its flights to Bangkok from Gatwick, after a four-year pause due to the pandemic. If you’re dreaming of Thai adventures, BA is now flying to the vibrant capital three times a week. Even better, the frequency is set to increase to five flights a week by January and February 2025, then four times weekly in March.
The route offers a three-class service, with return fares starting from £718. Not a bad deal to get back to Thailand’s iconic street markets, temples, and beaches! Plus, BA has expanded its codeshare with Bangkok Airways, making it super easy to connect to other dreamy destinations like Koh Samui, Phuket, Chiang Mai, or even venture over to Cambodia’s Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
Neil Chernoff, BA’s chief planning and strategy officer, mentioned how highly anticipated this route has been. Bangkok isn’t just an incredible city, but it’s also the perfect jumping-off point to explore Southeast Asia’s stunning islands and cultural gems.
And just in time for peak season, Thailand’s Tourism Authority is thrilled too. Sadudee Sangnil, TAT's UK, Ireland & South Africa director, highlighted how these flights will bring more visitors to experience Thailand’s warm hospitality, stunning landscapes, and rich culture. Whether you’re headed for the beaches of Phuket or the temples of Chiang Mai, there’s plenty to discover beyond the tourist hotspots.
So, if you're planning a winter escape, why not take advantage of this new route from Gatwick? And if you're flying BA, don’t forget to check out this airport lounge at Gatwick to kickstart your trip in style!
