Month-long EasyJet Holiday to Egypt is cheaper than staying at home in the UK this winter!

So Easyjet have launched a month long package holiday to Egypt that’s cheaper than staying and living in the UK!

Easyjet have worked out that it's actually cheaper to go abroad on a holiday (vacation if your from the USA!) than to stay in the UK and pay for your utility bills, food costs and all of your living expenses!

They are literally calling it “Escape the UK”

For £650 you get a flight and hotel, well not just a hotel a

5 STAR ALL INCLUSIVE HOTEL!

So that includes, breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, all drinks, wifi, for a whole 28 days!

They also throw in transfers!

Staying at the five-star Stella Gardens resort in Hurghada Egypt!

Fights are from London gatwick, Luton Manchester, Bristol,

This is a perfect excuse to go abroad if you can work from home, well remotely!Or freelance or you work online.

The airline and holiday company have calculated that the average cost for a Brit to pay for rent, travel and food, plus bills for energy, water, TV and Wi-Fi over 28 days comes to a total of £877 for your average person!

This is made up of

  • £415.33 on accommodation

  • £143.11 on groceries

  • £110.83 on eating out and takeaways

  • £105.78 on travel

  • £68.06 on gas and electricity

  • £17.50 on phone and broadband

  • £12.06 on water

  • £4.18 on TV streaming services

In my opinion I think you would still have to pay the costs of rent/mortgage as you would probably not move out of your home, but still this is great value!

However £143 on groceries, really? Mine is probably double that (may explain my weight gain!)

also my car running costs and commute is probably around £300 so yer probably around that figure!

oh and here’s an idea, could you rent your home out? To a student, a family friend, rodger the lodger? Airbnb or a house sitter, this would probably mean a lot of paperwork and costs to sort out, insurance, gas, electricity certificates etc.....but it could work for you!

Matt Callaghan, easyJet holidays’ customer and operations director, added:

“With a growing number of Brits now searching online to see if they can escape abroad this winter, we knew we needed to try to provide consumers with a solution.
“We looked at everything an easyJet holidays package deal has to offer, and have been able to confirm that yes, comparably, our new 28-day winter escape is cheaper than staying at home this year.”

The Holidays to Egypt depart on January the 3rd and 4th with fights from London Gatwick, London Luton, Manchester or Bristol.

The ‘Escape the UK’ promotion also feature other destinations, including Morocco, Tunisia and Turkey.

So what do you think? Are you going to go on holiday rather than staying in the UK?

I would love to know what you think? comment below.........

I have to say I’m quite tempted, but not sure how my dog will feel going to his nana’a for a whole month!

So save money and go on holiday! A Month-long EasyJet Holiday to Egypt is cheaper than staying at home in the UK this winter!
