While work is wrapping up on the shiny new Terminal 2, the airport is already gearing up to give Terminal 3 a serious glow-up. Plus, with Terminal 1 on its way out, there are some exciting changes coming to Manchester's favourite travel hub. Terminal 2: Bigger, Better, and Almost Done If you've flown from Manchester recently, you might have noticed the progress at Terminal 2. The final phase of its expansion is set to open later this year, bringing a new high street-style shopping area called The Avenue, a revamped security hall with 3D scanners, and a second pier with more boarding gates. They even released a fly-through video back in February showing off the sleek new space! The latest addition to Terminal 2 includes fresh check-in desks that are now open, and the security hall is just around the corner. According to Manchester Airport Group (MAG), Terminal 2 is set to become the airport's 'beating heart', serving over 70% of passengers once complete. Goodbye, Terminal 1, Hello, Terminal 3 Expansion With Terminal 1 nearing its final take-off, the space is being put to good use by expanding Terminal 3. Expect a new entrance, 40% more seating in the departure lounge, a 500-seat bar with views of the airfield, and an extra 200 seats in the dining area. There will also be new security tech and more shops and amenities landside. It's all about making Terminal 3 even more comfortable and efficient. Manchester Airport’s Managing Director, Chris Woodroofe, is enthusiastic about the transformation, stating, "Our transformation programme means that passengers will soon enjoy an experience that rivals any European capital city. Moving to a two-terminal airport gives us a fantastic opportunity to maximise the potential of Terminal 3, using some of the existing Terminal 1 space to significantly increase comfort and convenience for our passengers." The expanded Terminal 3 will feature enhanced seating and relaxation zones designed for both business and leisure travellers. What’s Included in the Escape Lounge? Buffet Dining: A selection of hot and cold dishes tailored to the time of day. During my morning visit, the breakfast spread was delightful with options like scrambled eggs, bacon, pastries, and fresh fruit. Later in the day, they serve more substantial meals such as pasta dishes and salads. Unlimited Drinks: Hot beverages (coffee and tea), soft drinks, and alcoholic beverages are all complimentary. Comfortable Seating: The lounge offers a variety of seating options, from cosy armchairs to work-friendly tables. Wi-Fi: Fast and free, perfect for catching up on emails or streaming. Magazines and Newspapers: Stay entertained or informed with a range of reading materials. Toilet Facilities: Not located in the lounge they are back in the terminal. My Escape Lounge Experience I arrived at the lounge a couple of hours before my flight to Germany. The check-in process was quick and efficient, with friendly staff welcoming me in. The lounge was but very crowded considering it was a Wednesday evening in November a very quite off peak time in an airport. The decor strikes a balance between modern and homely, with plush seating areas, wooden accents, the ceilings are quite low making it feel even more busier and full. If I'm honest it was a little bit grubby here and there. Food and Drink at Escape Lounge, London Stansted Airport The buffet offered clearly catered for the British tastebuds Thai red curry: Mustard flavoured mash was a winner! Coffee Station: A self-serve machine provided lattes, cappuccinos, and more. For those visiting later in the day, the lunch and dinner menus are equally satisfying, with hearty soups, salads, and the occasional themed dish. There’s also a dedicated bar area serving beer, wine, and spirits at no additional cost. Comfort and Amenities The seating was ample, and I found a comfortable corner to settle into with my coffee. The lounge also features several charging points, essential for keeping your devices powered up before a flight. It's as the number one apartment complex in Corralejo, this spot has a trendy vibe that screams modern comfort and local flair. I recently stayed there, and while I had some great moments, I also faced a few hiccups worth mentioning as travel bloggers go, I like to keep it real and not show a fake sham travel life! Well,fFirst Impressions I was greeted with a glass of cava, nice touch! The staff seemed super friendly and eager to help, things started off great! The Apartments at Buendia Corralejo Nohotel It had everything I needed, a kitchenette with a microwave, a funky leather coach bed, and a flatscreen TV. The bed was huge and super cozy, perfect for crashing after a day out. But here’s where things got a bit disappointing: I ended up in a corner unit right by the entrance. This meant constant foot traffic, which wasn’t ideal for relaxing. Plus, my terrace was tiny compared to some of the other units. I felt disappointed as I had planned to catch up on some work on my laptop on the terrace during the day, but couldn't due to the constant noise of people coming in and out. I really should have gone for a roof terrace room. Amenities and Facilities at Buendia Corralejo Nohotel The pool area is definitely a highlight! It’s well-kept, and the sunbeds are comfy, perfect for soaking up that winter sun. I spent a good amount of time lounging there. The hotel also has a fitness centre, which I appreciated for keeping up my legs bums and tums workout routine. 👉 Lastminute PRO Explained: Is the Free Membership Actually Worth It? Breakfast was a winner! Fresh, tasty, and made with local ingredients. There’s free parking, high-speed Wi-Fi, and even fun activities like retro board games and they have a surf shop, if you’re feeling adventurous Fueteventura is a great spot for windsurfing! Service and Reception at Buendia Corralejo Nohotel Most of the staff were lovely and helpful, but I had a bit of a disagreement with a receptionist. After receiving multiple requests for feedback and reviews via email/booking.com and watts app, I mentioned my disappointment with the room. One receptionist challenged my feedback, I was told by her that the room was assigned to me based on being a solo traveller, they put me in that room rather than a family, but I didn’t think that was fair since I paid the same rate. Rather than challenging my feedback at reception, they should have offered a solution. So because of the room and not being able to resolve problems or listen to feedback and a bit unfair towards solo travellers, I wouldn't come back to this hotel. Just make sure you clearly book the specific room type you require. This is what I thought I had booked..... This is what I got *Third world problems are real!! What I should have booked, but I think they were sold out of duplex roof top terrace rooms. It only takes two minutes to compare package holidays before you book. I've found holidays that saved hundreds compared with booking everything separately. Compare holiday deals → The Verdicto Overall, my time at Buendia Corralejo Nohotel was a mix of good and not-so-great. The modern feel, clean facilities, and mostly friendly staff made it enjoyable, but the room situation left a bit to be desired. If you’re after a trendy spot with great amenities for your winter holiday in Fuerteventura, this place could still work for you. Just make sure to clarify your room preferences when booking to avoid any surprises! Getting to Corralejo from the Airport If you’re flying into Fuerteventura, getting to Corralejo is super easy. Taxis are available right outside the airport, and it’s about a 40-minute ride. If you’re looking to save some cash, public buses run frequently, though it might take a bit longer.
