I stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Liverpool Airport to see whether this ultra-convenient airport hotel is genuinely worth booking… or whether you’re simply paying for location.

Quick Answer: Is Hampton by Hilton Liverpool Airport Worth It?
If you’re flying from Liverpool John Lennon Airport and want maximum convenience, this hotel absolutely delivers.
✅ Literally across the road from the terminal
✅ Huge on-site car park directly next to the hotel
✅ Walk to the airport in under 1 minute
✅ Hilton Honors points + status benefits
✅ Breakfast included
But…
Plane Honest truth: this Liverpool Airport hotel is now showing its age quite badly in places. The location is excellent. The convenience is unbeatable. The hotel itself? It feels overdue for a refresh. If you care more about an easy airport stay than luxury, it still works well. Just don’t expect a modern Hilton experience.

Location: This Is What You’re Paying For
This is where the hotel wins immediately.
The Hampton by Hilton Liverpool Airport is basically attached to Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
You park the car… walk around 20 yards… and you’re inside the terminal.
Honestly, it’s one of the easiest airport hotel setups I’ve used in the UK.
No shuttle buses. No dragging luggage across dual carriageways. No stress trying to find airport transfers at 4am. For early departures especially, that convenience is worth a LOT.

How Far Is Hampton by Hilton Liverpool from the Airport?
Very close.
The hotel sits directly opposite Liverpool John Lennon Airport terminal and takes around 1 minute to walk to check-in.
You genuinely couldn’t stay much closer unless you slept in the departure lounge.
First Impressions: Pink Velour & 2010 Energy
Walking into the lobby felt like stepping into an airport hotel time capsule.
There’s an explosion of pink velour seating and shiny finishes that scream late-2010s airport hotel design.
Not terrible. Just… dated.
What didn’t help was the VERY strong cleaning product smell throughout the lobby.
Plane Honest truth: it genuinely reminded me of a council swimming pool changing room.
That heavy chemical smell combined with the ageing décor gave the whole place a slightly tacky feel unfortunately.

Check-In Experience
I arrived around 12:45pm.
Reception explained the room might be ready around 1pm, which felt perfectly reasonable considering official check-in is from 2pm.
The room eventually became available around 1:45pm.
So overall:
✔ Staff were polite
✔ Expectations were managed fairly
✔ No real issue there
One thing I did notice though…
Nothing was mentioned regarding my Hilton Silver status. "Do you know who I am?"
No explanation of benefits. No recognition. No small touches. No separate check-in, no room upgrade, no acknowledgement.....nada. Not even a free bottle of water!
Not a huge deal at Silver level, but Hilton properties are usually quite good at least acknowledging loyalty membership.

The Room: Functional… But Definitely Tired
This is where the hotel starts to lose points.
The room itself was fine for one night before a flight, but it’s clearly suffering from wear and tear.
I noticed:
ripped blackout blind
scuffed furniture
ageing fittings
an extremely old kettle I genuinely didn’t want to use
The duvet was literally paper thin, the thinnest duvet I have ever seen (comforter to my American audience)
It’s not dirty. It’s just tired.
And that’s probably not surprising when you realise the hotel originally opened back in 2009 as part of Liverpool Airport’s expansion development.
That means this property is now over 15 years old and honestly… it feels it.
Plane Honest truth: this hotel is absolutely ready for a refurbishment.

Is There Aircraft Noise?
Surprisingly little. Considering how close you are to Liverpool Airport, the sound insulation actually performs reasonably well.
You still know you’re at an airport hotel of course, but I slept perfectly fine.
Late-Night Food, Pizza & Facilities
One thing the hotel does reasonably well is making sure you won’t go hungry after a late flight or early arrival.
There’s:
24/7 food availability
Pizzas
Toasties
Bar snacks
also a Gym, to work it all off!

Breakfast at Hilton Hampton Liverpool Airport
Breakfast times can vary slightly, but typically:
Early continental options are available before 4am
Full hot breakfast usually starts from around 6am until 10am
This is one of the reasons Hampton airport hotels work well for early flights.
You can eat before heading through security instead of paying airport prices later.
Plane Honest truth: the breakfast didn’t exactly blow me away.
It’s pretty basic. No frills. No fancy pastries or fresh croissants. Very much geared towards the traditional British bucket and spade brigade, think deep-fried Full English breakfasts, loaves of bread for toast, and a fairly limited fruit and cheese selection.
That said…
Of course I used Hampton’s signature waffle maker, and as per usual nearly started a fire.
I also noticed:
vegetarian sausages available on request
several gluten-free options
staff were happy to help with dietary requests
it’s not luxury breakfast territory.

Hilton Honors, Points & Why It Still Makes Sense
One thing I DO still like about Hampton hotels is the value inside the Hilton ecosystem.
Even if the hotel itself feels dated, you still get:
Hilton Honors points
app check-in
digital key access
elite status perks
occasional upgrades
I booked partly because I collect Hilton Honors points, and over time they really do add up.
The Hilton Honors Debit Card
This is also where the Hilton Honors debit card can quietly become useful for UK travellers.
Instead of preloading travel money cards, it links to your normal bank account while helping you:
collect Hilton points
unlock status perks
reduce FX fees abroad
That can mean:
free breakfasts
room upgrades
discounted stays
bonus points

⚠️ Just to be clear, this is a debit card, not financial advice, and it won’t be right for everyone. But if you travel even a few times a year, it’s one of the easiest ways to get more value without changing how you spend.

Why I Usually Book Airport Hotels Through Hotels.com
For airport hotels especially, I often still use Hotels.com because the rewards system is refreshingly simple.
Unlike some booking sites:
prices are usually clear upfront
no surprise local taxes suddenly appear at checkout in many regions
the loyalty system is easy to understand
Hotels.com Rewards
Stay 10 nights → get 1 reward night.
Simple.
For frequent airport hotel stays, that can quietly save a decent amount over a year.

Loyalty & Points
Hotels.com Rewards
Stay 10 nights → get £100 Hotels.com Cash
Use it on future bookings
A simple way to bring your hotel costs down over time
Liverpool Airport Parking: One of the Biggest Advantages Here
This setup is genuinely excellent if you’re driving.
The hotel sits directly beside the airport parking area, making it incredibly efficient for:
early departures
family travel
heavy luggage
short overnight stays
Honestly, this is one of those airport hotel combinations where parking + hotel + terminal access actually works smoothly together.
I’ll also be reviewing Liverpool Airport parking options separately because there are definitely ways to avoid overpaying.
This is where this hotel quietly becomes even more valuable.
🚗 Driving to Liverpool Airport? Save up to 70% on parking:
Use code Big15-Awin0
Want to Avoid Airport Food Prices? Use the Lounge Instead
Liverpool Airport lounges can actually offer surprisingly decent value compared to buying food and drinks in the terminal.
Especially now where:
airport breakfasts can easily hit £15+
coffee prices are ridiculous
seating gets chaotic
I’ve got a full Liverpool Airport lounge review coming soon, including:
what’s worth paying for
what’s overrated
whether Priority Pass makes sense here
If you travel a few times a year, lounge access can genuinely transform the airport experience.
If you travel even a few times a year, this is where it really starts to make sense.
Can You Walk to Liverpool Airport From Premier Inn?
Yes, some nearby airport hotels are walkable, including a Premier Inn. I would say it's a 30 -minute walk, or you can jump on one of the many buses heading for the airport (number 500 & 86)
However, the Hampton by Hilton is one of the closest and most convenient because it sits directly opposite the terminal entrance.
Is There a Hilton in Liverpool City Centre?
Yes.
Liverpool has several Hilton-branded hotels including:
Hampton by Hilton Liverpool John Lennon Airport
Hilton Liverpool City Centre
The city centre Hilton is better suited for sightseeing and city breaks, while this Hampton property is purely about airport convenience.
Is It Worth the Price?
Typical pricing usually sits around:
£90–£170 per night depending on dates.
Plane Honest truth:
You are paying for LOCATION here more than luxury.
If your priority is:
✔ easiest airport access
✔ stress-free early flight
✔ Hilton points earning
✔ simple overnight stay
…then it still works well.
If you want a modern premium-feeling Hilton experience though, this probably isn’t the property for you right now.
FINAL BOARDING CALL
Boarding Status: Convenient but overdue refurbishment
Cabin Class Verdict: Economy Plus Convenience
Would I Stay Again? Yes, for an early flight
Best For: Early departures, one-night stays, Hilton loyalists
Biggest Strength: You are basically already inside Liverpool Airport
Biggest Weakness: The hotel feels dated and worn in places, the thinnest duvet EVER! mediocre breakfast, but save yourself for the airport lounge at Liverpool Airport.
Plane Honest truth: This hotel survives almost entirely on convenience and to be fair, the convenience is excellent.
