Priority Pass Membership Cost: The Best Travel Upgrade or Just Another Subscription?

Priority Pass Membership Cost: The Best Travel Upgrade or Just Another Subscription?

Disclosure: This post contains affiliate links. If you click and buy, I may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. It helps support the blog and fund my ongoing airport lounge "research." Thanks for your support!

Let's start with a confession.

A few weeks ago, I nearly paid £14 for a salad at the airport.

Not a meal. Not a three-course dinner. A salad.

And that's before:

  • A coffee

  • A bottle of water

  • Somewhere comfortable to sit

  • A charging socket

  • Wi-Fi

Suddenly you're £25-£30 down before you've even boarded the aircraft.

That's exactly why airport lounges have become so popular.

The question is:

Does Priority Pass save you money, or is it just another subscription quietly draining your bank account?

After using Priority Pass at Heathrow, Gatwick, Amsterdam, Dublin, Vienna, Rome, Doha, Dubai, Tanzania, Sydney, Singapore, Berlin, Gdansk and beyond (you get access to 1800 worldwide!) here's exactly what it costs, which membership makes the most sense and whether it's actually worth paying for.

Before You Buy: Check Today's Priority Pass Offer

One thing many travellers don't realise is that Priority Pass regularly changes its promotions throughout the year.

I've seen discounts increase. I've seen them disappear.

I've seen new offers appear with very little notice. They have a great product and don't need to discount it at all. However, for a limited time they have offered a discount for my readers.

What Does Priority Pass Cost?

Priority Pass currently offers three membership options.

Current Priority Pass Membership Costs

Membership

Best For

Annual Fee

Standard

Occasional travellers

£69

Standard Plus

Most travellers

£229

Prestige

Frequent flyers

£419

Standard

Best for occasional travellers.

  • Annual membership fee

  • Lounge visits charged individually

Standard Plus

Best for regular travellers.

  • Annual membership fee

  • Includes complimentary lounge visits

  • Additional visits charged separately

Prestige

Best for frequent flyers.

  • Unlimited lounge access

  • No charge for your own visits

The challenge isn't understanding the memberships.

The challenge is understanding which one actually saves you money.

What Does Priority Pass Cost?

The Real Cost of Airport Lounges in 2026

Most UK travellers make the same mistake. They compare Priority Pass against £0.

That's the wrong comparison. The real comparison is:

Option 1

Sit in the terminal and buy:

  • £14 salad

  • £5 coffee

  • £7 beer

  • Fight for a charging socket

  • Listen to gate announcements for two hours

Option 2

Visit a lounge, get:

  • Unlimited food

  • Unlimited drinks

  • Comfortable seating

  • Wi-Fi

  • Charging points

  • Runway views

Suddenly the maths starts looking very different.

Heathrow Prices Have Become Ridiculous

Let's use Heathrow as an example. A typical departure might look like:

  • Pret salad: £14

  • Coffee: £5

  • Beer or wine: £7-£9

That's already approaching £30 and you're still sitting in a crowded departure lounge.

Now compare that to somewhere like:

  • Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow

  • No1 Lounge Heathrow

  • Aspire Lounge Heathrow

Unlimited food and drinks suddenly doesn't seem quite so extravagant.

London Heathrow Lounge Reviews:

If you’re flying from the UK, here’s where this actually matters:

Priority Pass Manchester Lounges

Manchester Airport continues to improve its lounge offering.

I've reviewed:

The ongoing Terminal 2 expansion has significantly improved the overall passenger experience.

The Airport Lounge Access Test

If you fly once a year, don't buy a lounge membership. If you fly regularly, start doing the maths. Most airport lounges now charge between £38 and £50 per person for entry.

A handful of lounge visits each year can quickly cost more than a membership.

When Priority Pass Starts Saving You Money

This is where things get interesting.

Flying Once Per Year, Probably not worth it.

Paying at the door occasionally may make more sense.

Flying 2-4 Times Per Year

Now we're entering Priority Pass territory.

Particularly if you're travelling from expensive airports like Heathrow or Gatwick.

Flying 5-10 Times Per Year

Priority Pass starts becoming very attractive.

The savings can quickly add up.

Flying Monthly

At this point, lounge membership often becomes one of the easiest travel purchases to justify.

Priority Pass Card

Which Priority Pass Membership Is Best?

Standard

Best for:

  • Occasional travellers

  • One or two trips annually

Personally? I think many travellers quickly outgrow Standard.

Standard Plus

Best for:

  • Most UK travellers

  • Holidaymakers

  • Frequent city breakers

  • Business travellers making occasional trips

It's also the membership I'd recommend to most readers. Why? Because it provides enough visits to enjoy the benefits of lounge access without paying for unlimited usage you may never need.

If you're taking:

  • A summer holiday

  • A winter break

  • A couple of city breaks

Standard Plus often makes the most sense.

Prestige

Best for:

  • Frequent flyers

  • Regular business travellers

  • Aviation enthusiasts

  • People who practically live in airports

If you're travelling every month, Prestige becomes very worthwhile. The ability to simply walk into lounges without thinking about visit counts can be a huge benefit.

My Favourite Priority Pass Lounges

One reason I keep renewing Priority Pass is because I've had some genuinely excellent lounge experiences. These are all lounges I've personally visited and reviewed.

A few favourites include:

Plane Tip: Make sure you upgrade to LUXE, at Aspire Liverpool Airport, it's only an additional £10 and well worth it!

Priority Pass Isn't Just Airport Lounges

This is another area many people overlook.

Depending on the airport, Priority Pass may also include:

  • Airport restaurant credits

  • Spa access

  • Sleep pods

  • Gaming lounges

  • Airport experiences

Some of these benefits can provide excellent additional value.

Priority Pass also get you free and discounted airport experiences.

How to Get Free Airport Lounge Access

You may not need to buy Priority Pass at all.

Some premium:

  • Credit cards

  • Bank accounts

  • Travel memberships

include lounge access as part of their benefits package. This is worth checking before paying for a separate membership.

Is Priority Pass Worth It?

Plane Honest? For me, yes. Not because I love airport lounges. Not because I need unlimited prosecco. And definitely not because I enjoy spending time in airports.

It's because I hate airport prices. Paying £14 for a salad, £5 for a coffee, £8 for a beer.

And then spending two hours hunting for a free seat near a power socket.

Priority Pass removes most of those frustrations.

Final Boarding Call

So, is Priority Pass luxury for less or money down the airport toilet? The answer depends entirely on how often you travel. Fly once a year? Probably not worth it.

Fly several times a year? The maths starts becoming surprisingly compelling. Fly regularly? It's one of the easiest travel upgrades you can make.

Airport lounges aren't really about luxury. They're about comfort. They're about avoiding airport chaos.

And increasingly, they're about avoiding airport prices. Before joining, make sure you check the latest Priority Pass offer first.

The discounts can change and the best deals don't always stick around for long.
