easyJet Launches New ‘Drop Everything’ Flights Tool for Last Minute Cheap Flights
Ever found yourself with a surprise long weekend, a cancelled plan, or simply staring out of the window thinking:
"I could be in Barcelona by tonight..."
Well, easyJet may have just launched the perfect tool for you.
The airline has unveiled a new feature called Drop Everything, designed to help travellers find and book last minute flights departing within the next 48 hours.
Available through easyJet's popular Inspire Me platform, the new feature makes it easier than ever to discover spontaneous city breaks, sunshine escapes and weekend getaways across Europe without spending hours comparing fares.
As somebody who has spent years chasing cheap flights around Europe, this is exactly the sort of travel tool I wish existed years ago. More about easJet here.

What Is easyJet Drop Everything?
easyJet's new Drop Everything feature is built into its Inspire Me search platform.
The idea is simple.
Instead of searching for a specific destination, travellers can browse flights departing within the next 48 hours and discover where they could be jetting off to this weekend.
Using the new tool, customers can search by:
Budget
Travel dates
Trip type
Destination inspiration
Flights departing within 48 hours

Whether you're craving a beach escape, cultural city break or simply a change of scenery, easyJet aims to remove the hassle from finding ultra last-minute flights.
According to recent research commissioned by easyJet, 72% of people say spontaneous acts make them feel happier, which may explain why impromptu trips seem more popular than ever.
Why I Actually Like This Idea
Plane Honest truth?
Some of my favourite trips have happened completely by accident.
I've booked flights to Morocco, Amsterdam, Paris and Italy simply because a great fare appeared and I thought:"Why not?"

The reality is that many people spend weeks researching destinations before they ever book. But sometimes the best travel memories happen when you simply pick somewhere interesting and go. In fact, as I write this, I've just booked an easyJet flight to Newcastle for the weekend. Maybe I am exactly the sort of traveller this tool was built for. ✈️
Looking for Last Minute easyJet Flights?
If you're searching for cheap easyJet flights, last minute city breaks or spontaneous weekend getaways, easyJet's new Drop Everything tool could be worth a look. The feature helps travellers find flights leaving within the next 48 hours without needing to search destination by destination.
That is exactly where easyJet's new tool could be useful.
Instead of spending hours searching:
Cheap flights to Barcelona
Cheap flights to Lisbon
Last minute flights to Amsterdam
Weekend breaks in Europe
You can simply see what's available and make a quick decision.
The Smartest Way I Find Cheap Flights
While I think easyJet's new tool is genuinely useful, it's not actually my favourite way to find cheap flights.
That title still belongs to Jack's Flight Club.
I've used Jack's Flight Club for years and it's helped me spot some incredible fares before they disappeared.
Including:
London to New York from £236 return
Manchester to Venice for under £10
Dubai from under £200
A £20 return trip to Morocco
The biggest advantage is that somebody else does all the hard work for you.
Instead of constantly searching airline websites, the deals arrive directly in your inbox.

Best European City Breaks for a Last Minute Getaway
easyJet highlighted several destinations that work particularly well for spontaneous travel.
Barcelona
One of Europe's most popular city breaks.
Expect:
Rooftop bars
Tapas
Beaches
Gaudí architecture
Barcelona works brilliantly for both a weekend trip and a longer escape.
Amsterdam
Perfect if you only have a couple of days.
You can easily enjoy:
Canal cruises
Cycling
Museums
Historic cafés
I still think Amsterdam remains one of Europe's easiest and most enjoyable city breaks.
Copenhagen
Perfect if you only have a couple of days.
You can easily enjoy:
Colourful waterfronts
Cycling
Tivoli Gardens
Danish cafés and bakeries
I still think Copenhagen remains one of Europe's most stylish and underrated city breaks. 🇩🇰
Nice
Combining beaches, old town charm and French Riviera glamour, Nice is ideal for a spontaneous sunshine break. I am obsessed with Nice especially the cute French towns along the coast like Menton and Villefranche-Sur-Mer!

Milan
Fashion, food and aperitivo culture make Milan one of Italy's most underrated weekend destinations. 24 Hours in Milan: The Ultimate Guide
Found a Cheap Flight? Don't Forget the Hotel
One mistake many travellers make is focusing entirely on the flight price.
Finding a £30 flight feels great. Paying £250 a night for the hotel doesn't.
Whenever I book a spontaneous trip, I compare accommodation prices immediately after finding the flight.
A cheap flight plus a reasonably priced hotel is usually where the real value appears.
Includes taxes and mandatory fees upfront, no nasty surprises at checkout.
The Perfect Cabin Bag for easyJet Flights
If you're planning a last minute trip, travelling with cabin baggage only can save both money and time.
One of my favourite options is still the Cabin Max Metz, which fits within the baggage requirements of:
easyJet
Ryanair
Wizz Air
It's lightweight, comfortable and ideal for short European trips.
Cabin Max Metz 40 x 20 x 25cm
This bag has been a budget-traveller favourite for years. Lightweight, easy to carry, and a proper rectangular shape to maximise space. It comes in so many different colour options, I really like mine because of the padding it's really comfortable to carry around unlike so many others I've tried. I also like the straps at the side because if I've over packed, you can pull the straps in and compress it all.
I've used mine for years and it remains one of the best travel purchases I've made.

Is easyJet Plus Worth It for Frequent Flyers?
If spontaneous travel becomes a habit, easyJet Plus can quickly start making sense.
Benefits include:
Large cabin bag included
Fast Track security at selected airports
Seat selection
Speedy Boarding
For travellers regularly booking last minute flights, these benefits can remove a lot of the usual airport stress.
I recently reviewed the programme in detail:
👉 easyJet Plus Review: Is It Worth £249 in 2026?
Why Spontaneous Travel Is Growing
Travel has changed dramatically over the last few years.
Many people are now prioritising:
Experiences over possessions
Short breaks over long annual holidays
Flexibility over rigid planning
easyJet's research suggests that spontaneity genuinely boosts happiness.
And honestly? I can believe it.
Some of my most memorable trips were never planned months in advance.
They started with a cheap fare, a free weekend and a slightly questionable decision-making process.
