For years, easyJet avoided traditional airline loyalty schemes.
No points. No status cards. No complicated mileage maths. No airport lounge obsession.
But that’s officially changing. easyJet has now confirmed it plans to launch a brand-new loyalty programme in 2027… and honestly? I’m kind of fascinated by this.
Because unlike some airlines desperately trying to create loyal customers, easyJet already has them.
Including me. And yes, I know that probably sounds strange coming from someone who also writes about airport lounges, Avios and premium economy upgrades.
But here’s the Plane Honest truth: I actually really like flying easyJet.
What Is easyJet Plus?
In fact I have easyJet Plus, which honestly feels like a mini loyalty scheme already. If you fly easyJet regularly, it can genuinely make the whole experience much smoother.
I’ve broken down whether it’s actually worth the £249 fee in my full easyJet Plus review here easyJet Plus Card Review 2026: Is It Worth £249 for Frequent Flyers?

Plane Tip:
If you fly easyJet regularly, easyJet Plus already works a bit like a mini loyalty programme.

easyJet Confirms New Loyalty Scheme Launching in 2027
easyJet confirmed in its latest results announcement that it plans to launch a full loyalty programme in 2027. The airline says the scheme will build on its already strong base of repeat customers and growing easyJet Plus subscribers.
And honestly? This feels like the next logical step.
Because easyJet is no longer just:
“cheap flights to Malaga.”
It’s slowly becoming a much broader travel concept:
easyJet Holidays
easyJet Plus
A loyalty programme was probably inevitable.

Could easyJet’s New Loyalty Programme Compete With British Airways?
This announcement also comes at a VERY interesting time for British Airways.
Especially after backlash around loyalty programme changes and growing frustration from some mid-tier frequent flyers.
easyJet doesn’t necessarily need lounges and champagne to compete.
Because many travellers simply want:
easier travel
simpler pricing
practical perks
fewer restrictions
affordable flexibility
That’s where easyJet could become surprisingly competitive.
Why I Keep Flying easyJet (And Why Travellers Stay Loyal)
And I think that’s the really interesting part here.
easyJet already has emotional loyalty from a lot of travellers… even without points.
I know exactly what to expect when I fly them.
That consistency matters.
The baggage rules are generally easier and clearer than some ultra-low-cost rivals. The experience feels less stressful than it used to years ago.And operationally? I’ve personally had some genuinely very good experiences with them.
Are they luxury? No.
But not every traveller wants luxury.
Sometimes people just want:
a reliable flight, a smooth airport experience and to arrive in Barcelona without emotional damage.
Honestly? Fair enough.

What Could easyJet Rewards and Loyalty Benefits Include?
At the moment, easyJet hasn’t revealed many details about how the new loyalty programme will actually work.
But realistically? I think travellers care less about champagne perks and more about practical benefits that genuinely make travel easier.
Things like:
cheaper flights
baggage perks
seat selection
flexible bookings
discounts on holidays
fast track security
rewards for frequent travellers
With easyJet you generally know what you’re getting.
The rules are usually straightforward, the app works, the flights are often on time.
And for millions of travellers across the UK and Europe, that consistency already creates loyalty. That’s why I actually think easyJet could make this work.
Not by trying to become another British Airways……but by doubling down on what people already like about flying with them.
Final Boarding Call
This isn’t really about easyJet trying to become British Airways.
It’s about easyJet recognising that modern travellers want value, flexibility and less stressful travel experiences.
That’s already created genuine loyalty long before points and rewards entered the conversation. If easyJet can launch a loyalty programme that keeps things simple, practical and genuinely useful, without turning it into a confusing status-tier obsession, this could actually become one of the most interesting airline loyalty launches in Europe.
Because weirdly? I think a lot of travellers are already loyal to easyJet.
Even if they never realised it before.
And honestly? I’m loyal, babes.
