There’s a new lounge in town – or more accurately, in the terminal.
Escape Lounges has just opened their first Scottish location at Edinburgh Airport, and if you’re on the hunt for somewhere quiet to sit, snack, and sip before your flight, this might be one to check out.
Located near Gate 4, next to the British Airways lounge, the new Escape Lounge has taken over the old Aspire space and given it a full refresh. Here’s a quick rundown of what to expect, how much it costs, and how to get Edinburgh Airport lounge access without paying the full walk-in price.
What’s Inside the New Escape Lounge Edinburgh?
The lounge seats 135 guests and is open every day from 4am to 10pm, covering both early-morning getaways and evening flights. The design is meant to reflect Edinburgh’s parks, gardens, and stone buildings – in reality, it looks modern, fairly cosy, and less like a budget airline holding pen (always a win).
You’ll find:
A buffet with hot breakfast and all-day food options
Premium alcoholic drinks including Scottish wines and spirits
Free Wi-Fi
Power outlets (always appreciated)
PressReader access for newspapers and magazines
A mix of workspaces and relaxed seating areas

Basically, it offers the usual suspects you’d expect from a mid-range UK airport lounge. Nothing crazy fancy, but a solid place to decompress before boarding. It’s similar to the Plaza Premium Lounge at Edinburgh Airport, which I reviewed recently (complete with a cheeky gin bar, if that’s your vibe).
How Much Does the Escape Lounge Edinburgh Cost?
Here’s the breakdown:
Walk-in price: £49
Online booking: From £39.99 at escapelounges.com
Priority Pass / DragonPass members: Free or discounted entry depending on your plan
Top Tip: You don’t need to pay full price. If you’ve got a Priority Pass (or fancy getting one), you can access the lounge from as little as £24 – and not just in Edinburgh, but in over 1,600 lounges worldwide.
(yes, I do get a tiny kickback, so thank you for supporting my travel adventures!).
Is the Escape Lounge Worth It?
It’s early days, so I haven’t reviewed it yet – but based on the standard Escape Lounge formula (and the fact they’ve just opened shiny new ones at East Midlands and soon Bristol), I’d expect:
A relaxed space away from the crowds
Food and drinks that are decent but not five-star
A more peaceful experience than the main departure area
If you’ve got a few hours at Edinburgh Airport and want to avoid the overpriced cafes or overcrowded gates, this could be a good shout – especially with a Priority Pass or other Edinburgh Airport lounge deals.
Other Edinburgh Airport Lounge Options
The Escape Lounge now joins a handful of other lounges at EDI, including:
Plaza Premium Lounge (Gate 16): Read my full review here
British Airways Lounge (for eligible BA and oneworld passengers)
No1 Lounge – closed at time of writing, but previously a strong option
The Plaza Premium Lounge is still my go-to, especially with the gin bar and its quieter vibe, but I’ll definitely be giving this new Escape Lounge a try soon.

It’s great to see another lounge opening at Edinburgh Airport – especially one that’s available to the general public and not just business class flyers. The Escape Lounge gives travellers more choice, and that’s always a good thing.
If you’re travelling soon, consider checking it out – and definitely don’t pay full walk-in price if you can help it. Pre-book online or use a lounge membership like Priority Pass to save a chunk of cash.
(Your entry drops to £24 – cheaper than a sandwich, crisps and drink in most UK terminals.)
