The Best Affordable Hotels in London, hub by Premier Inn
Hotel Review of hub by Premier Inn London
So I stayed at the hub in Westminster and also hub Tower Bridge in London, and I was really impressed! What a great concept! With 13 different locations to choose from in London
(also in Edinburgh and other UK cities are planned to be opened in the future) here is my honest review of hub by Premier Inn the cheap hotels in London central.
hub by Premier Inn is a new concept in city centre hotels from Whitbread. Compact, contemporary and connected, hub hotels are an innovation in high quality, great value hotel design and are all about taking the comfort, convenience and consistency of Premier Inn and putting it into a smaller package.
Modern, fresh, clean, hotels stripped back of all the hotely stuff, gym, baths, fridge, space, windows, service, fluffy pillows (see #pillowgate below), room service, mini bars.
This is just a comfortable room, perfect for a city break or business trip a place to sleep and then get out and about to do business or explore from hubs based in very central London locations! If your looking for more of an experience this isn’t for you! This is a chain full of cheap hotels in London central.

Location
Location is prioritised over space and luxuries at hub, which is why they are such great value hotels in centrl London, especially in expensive parts of London.

The Room
I’ve stayed in a standard room and also the slightly more expensive larger rooms, with a little more room space and perfect for couples.
hub standard room
Rooms are just 11.4 m2
The standard room didnt have a window, but who actually needs a window?
hub bigger room
13 m2
I paid £145 for the night in very central London at hub London Westminster Abbey,
Oh and I actually got a window!!
• Luxury double bed (king-size in bigger rooms)
• Free tea and coffee 24/7
• Monsoon showers
• 40” smart TV
• Free superfast Wi-Fi
• Pull out desk and storage (plus chairs in bigger rooms)
I love the easy room controls console, so you control the lighting and temperature exactly how you like it!
Bad bits
Who sleeps with just one pillow? Who?
I went for the hub bigger room for my partner and I, but this just came with 2 pillows and we normally sleep with 2 each.
So at reception I very politely asked for any more and I was told with an attitude that....
they just show 2 pillows in the description online!
Oh OK!
I went to the bar area and 10 minutes later the receptionist let me know that she had extra pillows and to stop by via reception after my drink (perhaps she looked up my instagram and realised I am SOMEBODY!? *this is a joke BTW)
Fast forward 20 minutes I went to reception and a fellow customer lady infront of me asked the gentleman receptionist for guess what?! Yes extra pillows! Ah a common theme!
He popped out the back behind reception then a few minutes later appeared with 2 pillows, served with no attitude!
Then the receptionist I had talked to appeared and she realised the other receptionist had given her my pillows!! It was all very awkward! Luckily about an hour later a knock at my hotel door and 2 more pillows were handed to me YAY!
So my experience of customer service at the hotel wasn't great! :(
Other bad bits are that the standard room felt a bit small for 2 people, hence why on my second visit I paid for the bigger room.
Oh and no irons.
The best bits
I found the room super comfortable!I didn't hear any noise considering they are densly configured busy hotels in central London.
The locations!! You are in the heart of the city, get out and about and explore!
Breakfast
Breakfast Breakfast was an additional £7 so a really great value price! The problem with this was every single hotel guest thought the same!
I actually felt quite sorry for the service staff, just 1 lady and 2 others behind the scenes running around to cater for everyone! I noticed at least 70 people in the bar area having breakfast, so cutlery and plates couldn’t be restocked fast enough and muffins served still frozen! The staff were running around like headless chickens.
So the breakfast appeared great value but it wasn't a great start to the day, next time I will pop to Pret!
