In 2016 I spent a few weeks travelling from Delhi to Agra and then around Rajasthan, visiting Jaipur and Udaipur, to this day it really was the most incredibble experience I've had travelling! Their is no place quite like it!

So when I came across this amazing offer of a trip covering the golden triangle in India, on Wowcher I knew I had to tell you all about it! Its amazing value check it out and just go for it, trust me you won't regret it!

On my trip to India I visited the Deshnok Karni Temple in Rajasthan. This is a temple where locals worship the rats that inhabit it. I cant believe I wore my best Paul Smith socks and had to bin them afterwards! This temple is full of rats (as featured on ITV's Trevor Mcdonald's India train adventure)

My top tips for travelling to India

  • Light comfortable conservative appropriate clothing, think linens, cotton that covers you, most places are very dusty so bare that in mind for your footwear.

  • Stick to vegetarian food, the vegetarian food is amazing BTW!

  • Don't drink the tap water, so NO ICE!

  • Nothing will happen on time

  • Prepare for a huge culture shock!

Packing list for travelling to India

  • Diarrhea tablets ( for the notorious Delhi belly) to be honest I never had any problems and I've travelled to India hundreds of times!

  • Toilet roll

  • Hand sanitizer

  • A good hat

  • Remeber the dress code for the taj mahal and other temples, covered shoulders and no bare legs

  • Mosquito spray

  • Handheld fan

  • First aid items

  • A strong high factor SPF (wear it even if its cloudy, the sun is very strong here)

The flight time to India is between 8 and 9 hours

When is the best time to visit India? In the winter months from December until April, the whole country will become very humid from April onwards with monsoon season starting June until September.
