On my trip to India I visited the Deshnok Karni Temple in Rajasthan. This is a temple where locals worship the rats that inhabit it. My top tips for travelling to India
Light comfortable conservative appropriate clothing, think linens, cotton that covers you, most places are very dusty so bare that in mind for your footwear.
Stick to vegetarian food, the vegetarian food is amazing BTW!
Don't drink the tap water, so NO ICE!
Nothing will happen on time
Prepare for a huge culture shock!

Diarrhea tablets ( for the notorious Delhi belly) to be honest I never had any problems and I've travelled to India hundreds of times!
