"Travelling without NordVPN? Forget it. In China, I couldn’t even access Gmail, maps, or podcasts until I fired up NordVPN. Instantly, I was back online, safe, and free to browse anything, anywhere."
If you’re planning a trip to China’s capital and looking for a Beijing hotel that offers luxury, comfort, and standout amenities, look no further than the Hilton DoubleTree Beijing. This sleek and modern property lives up to the Hilton brand's global reputation, with exceptional service, world-class dining, and top-notch wellness facilities.
Whether you’re travelling for business or leisure, hopefully this review should help you decide if Hilton DoubleTree Beijing is the right choice for your next visit.

First Impressions: A Modern Oasis in the Heart of Beijing
Situated in the Xicheng District, Hilton DoubleTree Beijing is ideally located for both tourists and business travellers. With quick access to the city’s key attractions like Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Temple of Heaven, you’re always just a short drive or metro ride away from the action. The hotel itself feels like a calm, professional haven amid the city's hustle and bustle.
The lobby is chic and spacious, blending classic Chinese elements with modern architecture. The check-in process was smooth and efficient.
Rooms: Comfortable and Stylish, But Temperature Was an Issue
The rooms at Hilton DoubleTree Beijing are stylishly furnished, offering a mix of Eastern aesthetic touches and Western comfort. My room featured a plush king-sized bed, a large desk space, high-speed Wi-Fi, and a flat-screen TV with a decent selection of international channels.
The bathroom was equally luxurious, with a walk-in shower with rain-style fixtures, complemented by Crabtree & Evelyn amenities.

The only downside? The room was too warm, with the temperature hovering around 27–28°C (around 80–82°F), which made it a bit uncomfortable during the night. Unfortunately, the air conditioning couldn’t be adjusted much lower. That said, the staff were quick to respond to my concern, delivering a large floor fan that helped bring the temperature down to a manageable level.
Dining: A Breakfast Worth Waking Up Early For
Let’s talk about breakfast, because at this hotel, it’s a major highlight.
Served at the Open Bistro, the breakfast buffet at Hilton DoubleTree Beijing is nothing short of phenomenal. Whether you’re craving Western staples like bacon, scrambled eggs, croissants, and hash browns, or prefer Asian delicacies such as dim sum, congee, noodles, and fresh steamed buns, the spread is immense and well-executed.
Vegetarians and health-conscious guests will be pleased with the fruit bar, fresh juices, salad station, and various plant-based milk options. There’s also a noodle bar with made-to-order bowls.

Buffet Dining & In-Room Meals: More Culinary Highlights
Beyond breakfast, the dinner buffet at the hotel is also worth mentioning. While it’s not always included in the room rate, it’s well worth the splurge.
Expect a rotating selection of international dishes: seafood, sushi, roast meats, noodle and rice dishes, and a dessert counter. The quality is consistent, and the ambiance, dim lighting, tasteful décor, and professional service, elevates the entire experience.

Facilities: Gym, Spa, and Pool Are Truly World-Class
Where the Hilton DoubleTree Beijing really shines is in its recreation and wellness amenities.
Gym:
The fitness center is open 24 hours and offers a wide array of machines, including treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, and free weights. The space is modern, clean, and not overly crowded. Whether you're doing a quick cardio session or a full strength workout, you'll have everything you need.

Spa:
The on-site spa is serene and beautifully designed, offering a full menu of treatments including massages, facials, and body scrubs.
Swimming Pool:
The indoor pool is heated and elegantly designed, with large windows that let in natural light and a separate hot tub for soaking. Whether you're swimming laps or just floating to unwind, it’s a peaceful retreat after a day exploring Beijing’s landmarks.

Silver Card Holder Perks: Extra Comforts for Hilton Honors Members
As a Hilton Honors Silver member, I received several benefits that added value to the stay.
These included:
Complimentary bottled water replenished daily
Late check-out, which was especially helpful given my evening flight
Free Wi-Fi with decent speeds for streaming and video calls
A warm greeting and recognition at check-in
Gold and Diamond members get more perks (like lounge access and room upgrades),
Travel Tip: Save with the Currensea Hilton Debit Card
For UK travellers (and potentially others in the future), I highly recommend using the Currensea Hilton debit card for your expenses while staying in Beijing.
This travel card is linked directly to your bank account, bypassing expensive international transaction fees and allowing you to earn Hilton Honors points for every purchase. I used mine for dining, taxis, and shopping across the city, and the real-time conversion rates were excellent.
Best of all, it helped me rack up enough points to move closer to Gold status, so for frequent travellers, this card is a game-changer.
Other Hotel Highlights
Concierge Service: The concierge team was helpful in booking taxis, arranging tours, and even recommending off-the-beaten-path restaurants.
Business Center: Fully equipped with printers, meeting rooms, and private workspaces, ideal for business travelers.
Airport Transfers: Available upon request, though I opted for a Didi ride (China’s version of Uber), which was seamless.

Should You Stay at Hilton DoubleTree Beijing?
Absolutely.
This hotel blends comfort, luxury, and cultural accessibility in one of the most exciting cities on the planet. Whether you’re traveling for business or leisure, the Hilton DoubleTree Beijing delivers on nearly every front: exceptional food, world-class facilities, and service that’s both friendly and professional.
From the unbeatable breakfast buffet and spa to thoughtful touches like Silver member perks and the support for Hilton-branded travel cards like Currensea, every detail feels intentional and guest-focused.
So if you’re looking for the best Hilton Beijing property, or simply a top-tier Beijing hotel experience, this one should be high on your list.
