If you're planning a trip through Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) in 2025 and considering a visit to the BER Lounge Tegel, you might want to read this first. As someone who appreciates a good airport lounge, I had high hopes for this one. Unfortunately, my experience left me giving it nil pois!

BER Lounge Tegel Review 2025: A Not-So-Relaxing Retreat at Berlin Brandenburg Airport

Where Is the BER Lounge Tegel Located?

The BER Lounge Tegel is situated in Terminal 1 of Berlin Brandenburg Airport, on Level E1, opposite Gate B17. It's located in the Schengen departures area, making it accessible for flights within the Schengen zone. However, if you're flying to a non-Schengen destination, be prepared for a bit of a trek, as the lounge is quite a distance from those gates. In my case, I was flying EasyJet to London, and reaching the lounge felt like navigating a maze.

Who Has Access to the BER Lounge Tegel?

Access to the lounge is available to:

  • Priority Pass holders

  • Passengers with certain airline statuses or business class tickets

  • Travellers willing to pay €36 at the door

Children under the age of 3 can enter for free.

First Impressions: A Crowded Café Vibe

I was shooketh by how crowded the lounge was. Finding a seat was a challenge, and the atmosphere felt more like a busy café than a relaxing retreat. The staff were clearly overwhelmed, struggling to keep up with clearing tables and cleaning up after guests.

Seating and Amenities: Mixed Feelings

The lounge offers a variety of seating options, including some private booths that are great for working. There's also a large meeting room available for booking, equipped with a smartboard and conference phone. However, the overall vibe and ambiance wasn't happening due to the overcrowding and lack of cleanliness.

Another downside was the absence of a dedicated Wi-Fi network for the lounge. Guests must rely on the airport's general Wi-Fi, which as we are in German, was ofcourse efficient, it doesn't offer the exclusivity you might expect from a lounge experience.

Food and Beverage: Underwhelming Selection

The food offerings were minimal. During my visit, the buffet consisted mainly of croissants and some cheeses. There were no hot food options or any meals available. On the bright side, there was German beer on tap! Danke!!

Additional Facilities: Showers and More

The lounge does offer shower facilities, which can be a great perk for travellers looking to freshen up before a flight. However, given the overall state of the lounge during my visit, I was hesitant to use them.

Getting from Berlin Airport to the City Centre

For those wondering about transportation options, Berlin Brandenburg Airport is well-connected to the city centre. The S-Bahn train service provides a direct link, with journeys taking approximately 30 minutes. This makes it convenient for travellers to reach central Berlin without much hassle.

Or check out these options with Get Your Guide, they have anamazing app and are so well organised and trustworthy.

Final Verdict: Not Worth the Price

In conclusion, the BER Lounge Tegel at Berlin Brandenburg Airport did not meet my expectations. The overcrowded environment, limited food options, and lack of cleanliness made for a disappointing experience. Unless you have access at a reduced fee through a program like Priority Pass, I wouldn't bother.
