Looking to fly from London to Turkey with a trusted name but a budget-friendly twist? Here’s my honest review of my recent flight with BA Euroflyer from London Gatwick to Dalaman, and a little bonus about their exciting new route to Antalya.

Flight Details:

  • Flight Number: BA2660

  • Route: London Gatwick (LGW) to Dalaman (DLM)

  • Aircraft: Airbus A320

My flight started with a 90-minute delay due to air traffic congestion! Gosh if only they still had a fabulous airline performance controller, delays at Gatwick wouldn't be as bad! (Wink Wink)

Although we boarded on time, we ended up spending over six hours in the cabin. Thankfully, there was a spare seat between my partner and me, making it a bit more comfortable.

What Is British Airways Euroflyer? How are they different to BA?

Seating and Comfort

Seating was what you'd expect from a low-cost carrier, decent for a short-haul flight, but don’t expect luxury. Legroom was on par with other budget airlines.

Top Tip: avoid the last row, which doesn’t recline. If the person in front reclines, it can make an already tight space feel more restrictive.

In-Flight Service

Service was minimal. We were offered a small snack bar and a glass of water. It felt very similar to the service on airlines like Ryanair or EasyJet. Business class passengers did get an extra perk of a meal and an empty middle seat, but whether it's worth the extra cost is up for debate.

It’s Not Quite BA: Avion Express on the Return

On my return from Dalaman, I wasn’t flying on a British Airways aircraft, it was operated by Avion Express with a clearly refurbished Wizz Air plane. Not exactly the BA quality you might expect. To top it off, we faced another 90-minute delay and a fully booked cabin.

Disappointing Ground Staff Experience

The ground staff at Dalaman Airport made things even worse. During check-in, the staff laughed at the fact my partner and I had the same surname (we're married). Even after explaining, the laughing continued at the gate. It was uncomfortable and disrespectful. I reported it to BA but only received a standard, generic reply. It's a reminder that while travel brings us closer, some attitudes still lag behind.

British Airways Euroflyer Baggage Allowance

One thing Euroflyer gets right is their baggage policy:

  • Cabin bag: One cabin bag (max 56 x 45 x 25 cm) up to 23kg.

  • Personal item: One additional smaller item (like a laptop bag or handbag) that fits under the seat (max 40 x 30 x 15 cm).

I personally use the Cabin Max Anode 40L cabin suitcase and the Cabin Max Metz 20L under seat bag, both fit perfectly within BA Euroflyer's requirements and make travelling much easier. Lightweight, durable, and super practical, they are brilliant options if you want to maximise your carry-on allowance without paying extra.

This is perfect fit under the cabin bag dimensions: 56 x 45 x 25 cm, I've been using the Cabin Max Anode for over a year and it's the perfect fit for British Airways Euroflyer Short-Haul carry on luggage item.

It is so light weight, it has 360 spinning wheels so I can push or pull it around the airport and place my small undereat bag on top of it. It has a well made lock to keep all my items secure. For the price as well it is excellent quality and comes in so many different colours!

  • Personal Item:

    • One additional small personal item (e.g., handbag, laptop bag, or backpack).

    • Must fit under the seat in front (max dimensions: 40 x 30 x 15 cm).

Cabin Max METZ 20L Under seat Bag (40 x 20 x 25 cm) is perfect for British Airways Euroflyer economy personal bag size requirements

You can keep everything super organised, I love that it is really padded well so it's very comfortable on your back all day long and this comes in so many different colours.

  • Checked Baggage (if purchased or included):

    • Standard allowance: One checked bag up to 23 kg.

    • Larger bags (up to 32 kg) can be added for an additional fee.

BA Euroflyer and the Executive Club

If you’re part of the British Airways Executive Club, you can earn Avios and Tier Points on Euroflyer flights, something you usually can't do on typical budget airlines. Plus, you can redeem points for reward flights and even get perks like lounge access and priority boarding.

New Route Alert: BA Euroflyer Now Flies to Antalya, Turkey!

BA Euroflyer has expanded their Turkey offering by launching a brand-new route from

London Gatwick to Antalya.

  • Flights operate five times a week

  • Flying days: Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays

This is perfect if you're planning a summer 2025 trip to Turkey and want another amazing destination option alongside Dalaman.

Is BA Euroflyer Worth It?

BA Euroflyer tries to blend British Airways branding with low-cost travel. You get flexible baggage allowance and the chance to earn Avios, but don't expect the full BA experience. In my opinion, it's a decent option if you value the convenience of Gatwick departures, better baggage rules, and loyalty points — but keep your expectations in check regarding the overall onboard experience.

Travel Tips for BA Euroflyer Flights:

  • Maximise baggage allowance: Pack smart with both a cabin bag and a personal item.

  • Avoid the last row: Seats in the back often have limited recline.

  • Consider a lounge pass: If you're flying from Gatwick, a lounge like Clubrooms can really upgrade your experience.

Top Tip: Avoid Dalaman Airport’s High Food Prices Food at Dalaman Airport is notoriously expensive, with basic meals easily costing £25–£40. To save money, plan ahead: eat a good meal before you leave for the airport and pack some snacks for the journey. You’ll avoid the inflated prices and have more to spend when you arrive at your destination!

Norse Atlantic Airways Review of Premium

WOW

Ready for Take Off?

While BA Euroflyer won’t deliver a premium British Airways experience, it strikes a decent balance between cost and service. Just pack smart, manage your expectations, and enjoy the chance to explore beautiful destinations like Dalaman, Antalya, and Marmaris with great flight times and good baggage allowances.

And if you're heading to Marmaris, trust me, a stay at Cook’s Club Adakoy will make your trip unforgettable.
