Manchester Airport Just Keeps Getting Better

If you've flown through Manchester Airport recently, you'll know things are changing fast.

First came the huge Terminal 2 transformation. Then new restaurants, expanded security areas and upgraded lounges.

Now Manchester Airport is getting another brand-new airport lounge and honestly, it sounds pretty impressive.

Aspire Pre-Flight Hospitality has announced it will open a brand-new Aspire Lounge inside Manchester Airport Terminal 2 in late August 2026.

With space for more than 300 passengers, dedicated work areas, family-friendly seating and upgraded food and drink offerings, this will become Aspire's third lounge at Manchester Airport and its second inside Terminal 2.

For travellers searching for the best Manchester Airport lounge, this could be one of the biggest airport lounge developments we've seen in the North for years.

Aspire Expands Again at Manchester Airport

Aspire continues to grow rapidly across the UK.

Following recent lounge openings and expansions at Liverpool Airport and Birmingham Airport, Manchester is the latest airport to benefit from Aspire's growing investment in premium airport hospitality.

The new Aspire Lounge will be located away from the busiest departure areas, providing passengers with a quieter and more relaxing environment before their flight.

According to Aspire, the new Manchester Airport lounge will feature:

  • More than 300 seats

  • Complimentary food and drinks

  • Quiet relaxation areas

  • Dedicated workspaces

  • Family-friendly seating zones

  • Private areas for business travellers

  • Manchester-inspired design and artwork

  • Award-winning Aspire hospitality

The aim is simple: create a space where travellers can unwind, work, dine or socialise before their flight. And let's be honest...

That's becoming increasingly valuable at busy airports.

Priority Pass with up to 30% off is the easiest way to access the lounge without worrying about availability or paying full price.

I’ve also written a full Priority Pass review explaining whether it’s actually worth paying for in the UK, including how I use it to save money at airports like Heathrow, Manchester and Liverpool.

Manchester Airport Terminal 2 Is Now The Place To Be

Manchester Airport Terminal 2 has become the airport's flagship terminal following its multi-billion-pound transformation.

Today, Terminal 2 is home to some of Manchester Airport's biggest airlines, including:

  • Qatar Airways

  • Emirates

  • Etihad Airways

  • Virgin Atlantic

  • TUI Airways

  • easyJet

  • Jet2

  • Norse Atlantic Airways

  • Pakistan International Airlines

  • Cathay Pacific

  • Hainan Airlines

  • Royal Air Maroc

  • Royal Jordanian

  • SAS Scandinavian

  • Saudia

  • Singapore Airlines

  • SunExpress

  • Swiss International Air Lines

  • TAP Air Portugal

  • Turkish Airlines

  • KLM

For long-haul travellers especially, Terminal 2 now feels like a completely different airport compared to a few years ago.

The expanded departures area, upgraded retail offering and growing collection of airport lounges have helped transform the passenger experience. And this new Aspire Lounge only strengthens that position further.

Manchester Airport Lounges:

Manchester Airport Lounges Continue to Improve

The exciting thing about this announcement isn't just the new lounge itself.

It's what it says about Manchester Airport's wider lounge offering.

Manchester Airport already offers some excellent lounge options depending on your budget and travel style.

If you’re comparing UK airport lounge options, I’ve also reviewed many airport lounges at Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester, including whether they’re genuinely worth paying for or just expensive places to eat crisps before a flight.

And honestly? I have a sneaky suspicion Manchester Aspire Lounge may end up featuring in my 2027 top rankings.

There’s also another new Manchester Airport lounge in Terminal 2, the Executive Lounge, but it comes at a much higher price point.

Manchester Airport lounge in Terminal 2, the Executive Lounge,

Manchester Airport Terminal 2 now offers one of the strongest lounge selections outside London. Current options include Escape Lounge, 1903 Lounge, the Executive Lounge (opening soon) and this all new Aspire Lounge. For travellers looking for Manchester Airport Terminal 2 lounge access, there are now options for almost every budget and travel style.

Escape Lounge Manchester Terminal 2

One of the best-value lounges at Manchester Airport.

It offers:

  • Complimentary food and drinks

  • Runway views

  • Comfortable seating

  • Priority Pass access

I've visited this lounge myself and found it to be an ok option for travellers wanting food, drinks and somewhere quieter before departure, with just Ryanair using this terminal, lets just say the terminal can feel like "chaos!"

For travellers looking for a more premium adults-only experience.

This is currently one of Manchester Airport's most popular premium lounge options.

The arrival of another Aspire Lounge gives passengers even more choice, especially in Terminal 2.

Can You Use Priority Pass at the New Aspire Lounge?

Aspire lounges across the UK are frequently available through:

  • Priority Pass

  • DragonPass

  • LoungeKey

  • Premium credit card programmes

While Aspire has not officially confirmed access arrangements, Aspire lounges across the UK are commonly available through Priority Pass, making future inclusion a strong possibility.

Why Priority Pass Makes Sense at Manchester Airport

Manchester Airport is one of the best UK airports for Priority Pass members.

Depending on your terminal and travel date, you can already access several lounges through the programme.

Priority Pass currently provides access to more than 1,800 airport lounges worldwide and can often reduce the cost of lounge access significantly compared to paying walk-up prices.

For frequent travellers, it remains one of my favourite travel memberships.

Why Airport Lounges Are More Popular Than Ever

Airport lounges used to feel like something reserved for business-class passengers.

Not anymore.

Increasingly, travellers are paying for:

  • Guaranteed seating

  • Better food

  • Complimentary drinks

  • Quieter surroundings

  • Charging points

  • Faster Wi-Fi

  • A more relaxed start to their trip

After all, Manchester Airport can be busy, particularly during school holidays and summer departures. Having somewhere comfortable to escape the crowds can completely change the start of a holiday.

Could This Become Manchester Airport's Most Popular Lounge?

The biggest advantage of this new Aspire Lounge isn't necessarily luxury.

It's capacity.

With more than 300 seats available, it should help ease pressure on existing Manchester Airport lounges during peak travel periods. For travellers flying from Terminal 2, that's excellent news.

More seats.

More availability.

More choice.

And hopefully fewer disappointed passengers being turned away from full lounges.

Final Boarding Call

Manchester Airport's transformation shows no signs of slowing down.

The arrival of a brand-new Aspire Lounge in Terminal 2 is another sign that Manchester continues to invest heavily in the passenger experience. For travellers, that's great news.

More lounges, more choice and potentially more opportunities to use Priority Pass before your next Manchester Airport flight.

I suppose i will have to head over to review the new Aspire Lounge as soon as it opens.

Until then, Manchester Airport just keeps giving.
