Manchester Airport Lounges: My Reviews & Comparison
Flying from Manchester Airport soon? Then you have two choices before your flight.
You can sit by the gate guarding a £6 coffee while desperately searching for a plug socket… or you can step into an airport lounge and start your trip properly.
I've tried the lounges at Manchester Airport, and in this guide I'm comparing the current Manchester Airport lounges across Terminals 2 and 3 to help you decide which one is best for your flight. I'll compare the food, drinks, facilities, prices and lounge access options, including Priority Pass, as well as sharing my own experience of each lounge.
Manchester Airport currently has several lounges across its two active terminals, but they're definitely not all equal.
Manchester Airport lounges offer a quieter place to relax before boarding, with comfortable seating, complimentary drinks, Wi-Fi and sometimes even hot food. Instead of fighting the crowds in the terminal, you can sit back and let the airport chaos happen somewhere else.
The good news is Manchester Airport now has several lounge options across its terminals, including Aspire lounges, Escape lounges, The Executive Lounge, and even a private terminal experience for travellers looking for something more exclusive.
Which Manchester Airport Lounge Is Best?
If you just want my verdict, here’s how I’d rate the current Manchester Airport lounge options:
Best Manchester Airport lounge overall: The Executive by Escape Lounges, Terminal 2 is currently my pick of the Manchester lounges. It looks great and feels much more polished than your average airport lounge, but with premium prices and not even a cocktail on offer, I'm not entirely convinced it's as "Executive" as the name suggests. More on that in my full review below.
Best Terminal 2 lounge: The Executive by Escape Lounges, for now. Aspire is opening a brand-new lounge in Terminal 2, and I'll be there as soon as it opens. If it's anything like the Aspire lounges I've experienced at Manchester and Newcastle, it could very quickly become my new favourite.
Best Terminal 3 lounge: Aspire Lounge, my pick for the best all-round T3 lounge experience.
Best with Priority Pass: Escape Lounge, a solid option if you're using membership access rather than paying the full entry price.
Best for food & drinks: The Executive Lounge, the strongest food offering of the current lounges, although the lack of cocktails at this price still feels a bit stingy.
One to watch: the new Aspire Lounge T2
This could shake up my rankings. Aspire is opening a new lounge in Manchester Airport Terminal 2 and, as soon as the doors open, I'm on my way. I'll update this guide once I've tried it properly and we'll see whether The Executive keeps the top spot.
My current verdict: The Executive is the nicest overall lounge I've tried at Manchester Airport, but nicest doesn't necessarily mean best value. Your terminal, how you're accessing the lounge and what you want to eat and drink can make another option the better choice.

Manchester Airport Lounges FAQs
Which Manchester Airport lounge is best?
For me, The Executive by Escape Lounges in Terminal 2 is currently the best Manchester Airport lounge overall. It has a more premium feel, better food and a stylish interior, although at over £60 per person it isn't cheap and I still can't quite get over the fact that a lounge called The Executive doesn't even offer a proper cocktail!
That said, there's a new Aspire Lounge coming to Terminal 2, and I'll be there as soon as it opens. If it's anything like the Aspire lounges I've visited elsewhere, The Executive could have some serious competition.
Which lounges are in Manchester Airport Terminal 2?
Manchester Airport Terminal 2 currently has Escape Lounge and The Executive by Escape Lounges, with Aspire also listed by Priority Pass for Terminal 2. The former 1903 Lounge has permanently closed, with The Executive now Manchester Airport's elevated premium lounge option.
If you're flying from T2, check the current lounge situation before travelling as Manchester's lounge line-up has been changing considerably.
Which lounges are in Manchester Airport Terminal 3?
Manchester Airport Terminal 3 currently has Aspire Lounge and Escape Lounge. The setup can initially seem confusing following the closure of Terminal 1, as Ryanair passengers now use Terminal 3 while parts of the former Terminal 1 infrastructure have been incorporated into the operation. Manchester Airport now officially operates just Terminal 2 and Terminal 3.
I've tried the Aspire Lounge myself, and Aspire is currently my pick in Terminal 3.
Which Manchester Airport lounges accept Priority Pass?
Priority Pass currently lists four Manchester Airport lounges:
Aspire Lounge – Terminal 2
Escape Lounge – Terminal 2
Aspire Lounge – Terminal 3
Escape Lounge – Terminal 3
Pre-booking is available, although availability isn't guaranteed and reservation fees can apply. The Executive by Escape Lounges does not currently accept Priority Pass or DragonPass.
Plane Tip: If you're travelling at a busy time, I'd always consider reserving your lounge in advance rather than relying on getting in at the door.
How much do Manchester Airport lounges cost?
Manchester Airport lounge prices vary depending on the lounge, travel date and how you access them. Premium lounges such as The Executive can be considerably more expensive than Aspire or Escape.
This is one of the reasons I use Priority Pass. Several Manchester Airport lounges accept Priority Pass, so if you travel regularly, membership can work out much better value than paying separately for individual lounge visits.
Can you pay for a Manchester Airport lounge on the day?
Yes, some Manchester Airport lounges accept walk-up guests, subject to availability. However, access isn't guaranteed during busy periods.
If you have Priority Pass, check the Priority Pass app before travelling to see which lounges are available and whether pre-booking is offered.
How long can you stay in a Manchester Airport lounge?
It depends on the lounge and how you've booked your visit. The Executive by Escape Lounges currently allows access 2.5 hours before your scheduled departure, giving you around two hours in the lounge. Other Manchester Airport lounge bookings may offer different time limits. (Manchester Airport)
Always check the conditions attached to your particular booking or lounge membership before travelling.

Priority Pass Lounges at Manchester Airport
Many travellers assume airport lounges are only for business class passengers.
But many Manchester Airport lounges can be accessed through lounge memberships like Priority Pass.
Priority Pass gives travellers access to 1,900+ airport lounges worldwide, including several lounges at Manchester Airport.
I almost never pay the walk-up price for airport lounges. Instead, I use Priority Pass.
If you travel even two or three times per year, a membership can easily pay for itself. Especially when lounge entry at airports like Manchester can easily cost £35–£40 per visit.
For most travellers, the Standard Plus plan is the best value. It includes 10 lounge visits per year, which is ideal if you travel a few times annually.
With my reader offer, plans start from around £48, and those visits can quickly pay for themselves.
Plane Tip: Even two lounge visits per year can often cover the cost of a Standard Plus membership.
Manchester Airport Terminal 3 Lounges
Terminal 3 has a couple of lounge options depending on whether you’re looking for a simple pre-flight drink or a more premium experience. If you're wondering what happened to Terminal 1, Manchester Airport is currently undergoing a major terminal reconfiguration. Some Terminal 3 passengers now use areas of the former Terminal 1 building, which can make the lounge situation slightly confusing.

Aspire Lounge Manchester Terminal 3
Here's where it gets slightly confusing. The Aspire Lounge is physically located in the former Terminal 1 area, but it now serves eligible Terminal 3 passengers, including Ryanair passengers using this part of the airport.
So although you may still see references to “Aspire Lounge Terminal 1” online, for passengers it's now effectively part of the Terminal 3 lounge offering.
Aspire is available through several lounge membership programmes.
Inside you’ll usually find:
buffet snacks
complimentary drinks
comfortable seating areas
Wi-Fi and flight information screens
It’s not the most luxurious lounge in the world, but it’s still a far calmer place to wait for your flight compared with the busy departure gate.

Aspire vs Escape Lounge Manchester Terminal 3
If you’re choosing between Aspire and Escape at Manchester Terminal 3, I’d pick Aspire. Both offer complimentary food and drinks, comfortable seating and accept Priority Pass, but I found Aspire the more relaxing pre-flight experience.
My winner: Aspire Lounge. Escape is still a good alternative, particularly if Aspire is busy, but if both are available through my Priority Pass, I’m heading to Aspire.
Manchester Airport Terminal 2 Lounges
Terminal 2 is now the newest and most modern terminal at Manchester Airport and is home to several of the airport’s best lounges.
If you’re flying from Manchester Airport Terminal 2, you currently have three main lounge options:
Escape Lounge Terminal 2
Aspire Lounge Terminal 2
The Executive Lounge Manchester Airport Terminal 2
These Manchester Airport Terminal 2 lounges vary from simple pre-flight buffet lounges to more premium spaces with table service and quieter seating areas. The Executive Lounge also offers an upgraded dining experience called 'The Boll."
Most travellers access these lounges by:
pre-booking online
using lounge memberships like Priority Pass
travelling in business class with certain airlines
Because Terminal 2 now handles many long-haul flights from Manchester, these lounges are often used by passengers heading to destinations across North America, the Middle East and Asia.
1903 Lounge Manchester Airport
(Update June 2026) Sadly 1903 lounge has now closed! It is now part of Escape Lounge Terminal 2.
The Executive by Escape Lounges Manchester Terminal 2
Replacing this premium lounge is The Executive Lounge, I was impressed by The Executive when I visited, particularly the food and the overall design. However, considering the premium price, I expected the drinks offering to feel more “Executive” too, you can't even order a proper cocktail. It's currently my favourite Manchester lounge overall, but I'm not convinced it's the best value.
Compared with Aspire, The Executive Lounge focuses more on:
table service dining
higher-quality food and drinks

Escape Lounge Manchester Terminal 2
The Escape Lounge in Terminal 2 is one of the most popular lounges at Manchester Airport and is accessible through several lounge programmes including Priority Pass.
Inside you’ll typically find:
hot and cold buffet food
alcoholic and soft drinks
comfortable seating areas
Wi-Fi and charging points
While it can get busy at peak times, it’s still a welcome escape from the busy terminal environment.

Aspire Lounge Manchester Terminal 2
Terminal 2 also features another Aspire Lounge, offering a similar experience to the Terminal 1 lounge.
Typical opening hours:
4:00am – 8:00pm daily
Guests usually have a maximum stay of three hours, which is standard across most airport lounges.
Facilities include:
light snacks and drinks
comfortable armchairs
free Wi-Fi
television and flight information screens
The lounge is located airside after security near Gate 209. However this is now being refurbished and a new Aspre Lounge in terminal 2 will open soon.
Aether Private Terminal Manchester Airport
Manchester Airport also offers something very different from a traditional lounge.
Aether is a private terminal designed for travellers who want to bypass the main airport entirely.
Instead of passing through crowded terminals, passengers check in at a separate facility where the entire airport experience is handled privately.
The experience includes:
private security screening
luxury lounge space
curated dining
chauffeur transfer directly to your aircraft
It’s effectively a VIP airport experience rather than a standard airport lounge.
Which Manchester Airport Lounge Would I Choose?
Choosing the best Manchester Airport lounge depends on what kind of experience you're looking for.
Best premium lounge The Executive Lounge in Terminal 2, however I think once the new Aspire Lounge open soon, that will be my top choice, if it's anything like Liverpool and Newcastles Aspire Lounges.
Best value lounge Escape Lounge Terminal 2
Most exclusive experience Aether Private Terminal
