Finnair’s 40% Avios Sale a Rare Nordic Treat
Finnair has just dropped a frosty deal that’s making Avios collectors melt up to 40% off when you buy Avios through Finnair Plus until 2 November 2025.
That means you can stock up on Plane Points & Miles for as little as 1.26 euro cents each around 1.47p one of the best Avios prices we’ve seen this year (and cheaper than anything in the last BA sale).
So if you’ve been eyeing a cheeky Finnair business class flight, topping up for a Qatar Airways Qsuite, or need a few extra Avios for your next BA Club World upgrade… this might be your Nordic nudge.
Or, as the Finns say Kiitos!

Buying Avios via Finnair How It Works
If you’re lucky enough to see the full 40% discount, here’s how Finnair’s tiers stack up:
Avios Purchased | Discount | Price per Avios (€) | Approx. Price (p) |
1,000–4,000 | None | €0.027 | 2.3p |
20,000–49,000 | 30% | €0.0154 | 1.32p |
85,000–200,000 | 40% | €0.0126 | 1.08p |
Buy the full 200,000 Avios, and you’ll pay €2,520 (≈£2,150) not bad for enough points to get you to Asia in business class.
You just need:
A Finnair Plus account created before 24 October 2025
At least 100 Avios in your account (transfer them instantly from BA Executive Club)
Why Finnair’s Avios Are a Smart Buy
Finnair Plus is now fully integrated into the Avios family, which means you can transfer Avios freely between:
Finnair Plus
British Airways Executive Club
Iberia Plus
Qatar Airways Privilege Club
Aer Lingus AerClub
That’s one big happy Oneworld network of redemptions from BA First Class to Qatar Qsuites or even a stopover in Helsinki with Finnair business class.

When Buying Avios Makes Sense
Buying Avios is a smart move when you’re just shy of a redemption goal. For example:
Route | Cabin | Avios | Fees | Approx. Total |
Helsinki – Rome | Business | 20,000 | €33 | ~€285 |
Helsinki – New York | Economy | 30,000 | €101 | ~€541 |
Helsinki – Chicago | Business | 62,500 | €156 | ~€1,000 |
Helsinki – Seoul | Business | 62,500 | ₩175,900 (~€130) | ~€920 |
That’s a serious saving versus cash fares and a far more stylish way to fly than praying for a seat sale.
Don’t Forget the Small Print
Sale ends 2 November 2025
You can buy up to 200,000 Avios per year
Avios expire after 18 months of inactivity
Points post within 72 hours (often instantly)
Plane Tip:Keep your Finnair Avios alive by doing something, anything, at least once every 18 months.Transfer a few Avios from British Airways, Qatar Airways, or even earn a handful from a partner hotel stay. One small transaction resets the expiry clock, keeping your hard-earned (or hard-bought) Plane Points & Miles safe and ready for take-off.
You can also shuffle Avios between Finnair, BA, Iberia, and Qatar, whichever has the best reward availability or lowest taxes.
Final Boarding Call
Finnair’s 40% Avios sale is a solid Nordic steal if you’re topping up for a specific redemption. Whether it’s Qatar business class, a BA Club World flight, or a Finnair Plus upgrade, 1.26 euro cents per Avios is a rate worth toasting with a glass of inflight champagne.
If you’re nowhere near a reward goal though, save your euros there’s always another BA sale (and another Plane Tip) around the corner.
If you’re curious how it feels up front, check out my latest Qatar Airways business class review and BA Euroflyer Club Europe experience two very different vibes, both powered by Avios.

Avios Tip of the Week:If Avios are selling for under 1.3 euro cents (≈1.1p), it’s a deal worth flying for. Anything higher, and you’re better off earning through an Amex UK or BA Amex instead your wallet (and latte fund) will thank you.
