Scoot Doubles Down on Sydney: Twice-Daily Dreamliner Flights Begin October 2025

Scoot Doubles Down on Sydney: Twice-Daily Dreamliner Flights Begin October 2025

By Flight and Travel Expert Mr Plane Guy

Big news for Aussie travellers and Singapore stopover fans: From 5 October 2025, low-cost carrier Scoot will boost its Sydney–Singapore route to double daily flights, up from the current ten services per week. This expansion means more flexibility, more availability, and more chances to escape to Asia on a budget (well, sort of).

More Flights, More Dreamliners

Operated by the Singapore Airlines Group, Scoot will add four new services per week, cementing its presence at Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport with two daily departures. These flights will be serviced by Scoot’s flagship Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner a wide body aircraft featuring:

  • 375 seats

  • 35 ScootPlus (ScootClub) seats in a 2-3-2 layout

  • 340 Economy seats in a 3-3-3 layout

  • A quiet zone branded “Scoot-in-Silence” up front

Onboard, passengers can expect in-seat power, Wi-Fi options, and meals available for pre-order or onboard purchase, but don’t expect too many frills.

Scoot and Sydney: A Decade-Long Partnership

Scoot first landed in Sydney back in June 2012, and this expansion reflects strong demand on the Sydney–Singapore corridor. According to Sydney Airport, the relationship with Scoot is part of a broader commitment to supporting affordable long-haul travel options to and from Australia.

Meanwhile, parent airline Singapore Airlines will continue its five daily services between Singapore and Sydney, and has plans to begin operations at Western Sydney Airport once it opens.

Looking west? From 4 August 2025, Scoot will also increase Perth flights from 12 per week to double daily and over in Indonesia, all Singapore–Bali flights are now upgraded to the Dreamliner too.

Scoot: Low-Cost... or Not?

While Scoot markets itself as a budget airline, some of us (hi, it’s me 👋) have found the fares not always so "low-cost." My ScootPlus experience from Sydney to Singapore set me back over AUD 1,100, and came with a few surprises. Think: no inflight entertainment screens, patchy Wi-Fi, and very limited service. Curious?

Lounge Life Before You Fly

Flying Scoot doesn’t include lounge access, but trust me, you’ll want it. I used my Priority Pass to access the Plaza Premium Lounge at Sydney Airport before boarding. A glass of bubbles and some actual food made all the difference.

Final Boarding Call

If you’re planning a trip to Singapore, Bali, or beyond, Scoot’s growing Dreamliner network now offers even more flexibility from Sydney and Perth. Whether you're chasing tropical beaches or heading onwards to Europe via Changi, the extra flights mean more chances to score a seat , just make sure you know what to expect before you book.

Top Tip: if checking my bag into the hold I put an AirTag in my suitcase, check your bag has arrived at the destination, honestly it's a game changer!
