Clubrooms Gatwick North Review: From Security Meltdowns to Private Members’ Club Energy

If you’re researching Gatwick Airport lounges, specifically Gatwick North lounges, and wondering whether Clubrooms is worth the £15 supplement with Priority Pass Gatwick access, this review covers everything from food and drinks to atmosphere and value.
This is your full, Plane Honest review of Clubrooms Gatwick North and whether the £15 supplement is actually worth it.
Where Is Clubrooms Gatwick North?
📍 Floor 1, Gatwick North Terminal
Walk past WHSmith and follow signs for airport lounges. It’s located alongside the other Gatwick Airport lounges, you genuinely can’t miss it.
Dress code: Smart casual.
Opening hours: 06:00 – 18:00

How Much Is Clubrooms Gatwick North?
Walk-up price: £52
With Priority Pass: £24 lounge entry + £15 supplement
Total: £39
That £15 is the difference between buffet chaos and table-service calm.
And no, you don’t need a premium credit card with ridiculous spend targets just to unlock “free” lounge perks.
No bank switching. No five-figure annual spend gymnastics. Just direct membership.
Atmosphere: Quiet, Moody, Elevated
It’s dark. Moody. Blues and blacks. Slick but slightly dated in places (yes, the fake flowers are still holding on).
It feels like a basement private members’ club. Think Ronnie Scott’s… but in Crawley. No jazz. Just cocktails and departure boards.
It’s very quiet, noticeably quieter than the standard Gatwick lounges.
The staff were genuinely excellent. So friendly. So relaxed. Polished without being pretentious. They checked in multiple times to see if I needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble.
After being pulled aside in security and forced to unwrap a Tom Ford Valentine’s gift under fluorescent lighting (romance is alive), I was emotionally available for luxury.
This lounge reset me.
Pampered. Reset. Main character energy restored.
Boarding later for easyJet 3F? Irrelevant. For 90 minutes I was First Class in my mind.
That’s the beauty of luxury for less.
Food at Clubrooms Gatwick North
One of the key differences between standard Gatwick lounges and Clubrooms is the table-service dining.
Self-Serve “A Little Something”
All butter shortbread
Chocolate brownies
Lemon drizzle cake
Roasted & salted peanuts
Marinated olives
Tasty. Slightly basic presentation-wise. Slabs of cake rather than plated finesse.

Lighter Bites
Wild mushrooms on sourdough
Soup of the day
Smoked duck & pomegranate salad

Main Dishes Include
Roasted chicken breast (halal)
Lentil bolognese linguine (ve)
Fish goujon sandwich
Slow-cooked beef in red wine sauce
Ratatouille bake with cheesy crumble
Mediterranean chicken linguine
Nut roast with honey-glazed roots
What I Ordered
Meze Signature Plate
Hummous, beetroot tzatziki, fresh salad, falafel. Now THIS was amazing. Fresh. Light. Clean. Proper flavour. Exactly what you want before a flight. Honestly, this was the standout dish for me.

Mediterranean Chicken Linguine
Now, let’s be PLANE honest. For the upgraded price tag and the private members’ club lighting, I was half expecting Egon Ronay to personally deliver a refined, high-end, fresh pasta masterpiece.
What arrived looked… fine, a little 'Wetherspoonsy', if I’m being gently snobby.
Presentation-wise, it didn’t scream “premium upgrade.” It wasn’t bad, it just didn’t look like £52 energy. That said, it tasted good. Hearty. Rich. Quite heavy. Slightly salty. Definitely filling. If you’ve got a long-haul flight ahead, it works. It’s comfort food.
But if you want lighter pre-flight energy, the Meze Signature Plate is the superior option.

Drinks & Wine List
The drinks selection is strong for an airport lounge.
Champagne options include (at an extra cost):
Hattingley Valley
Moët & Chandon
Moët Rosé
Sparkling wines, Pinot Grigio, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Chenin Blanc, genuinely decent options, but the standout? Espresso Martini, It was exceptional. Properly balanced. Good crema. Not watery. Not rushed. Unlike the filtered coffee situation I experienced at Heathrow Clubrooms Terminal 3 (read my full Heathrow Clubrooms Terminal 3 review here), this cocktail actually felt premium.
If Clubrooms is selling elevated, this drink delivered.

Is Clubrooms Gatwick Worth It?
Compared to other Gatwick Airport lounges in the North Terminal, Clubrooms is the most premium experience available with Priority Pass.…based on service quality and overall experience.
You get:
Quieter environment
Table service
Cooked-to-order food
Premium cocktails
A genuinely calmer start to your trip
What’s the Difference Between Lounges and Clubrooms?
Standard lounges (like No1 Lounge Gatwick or Plaza Premium) offer:
Buffet food
Self-service drinks
Larger, brighter spaces
More social atmosphere

Clubrooms offers:
Table service
Smaller, quieter setting
More premium menu
Private members’ club vibe
It’s essentially the upgraded version of Gatwick lounge access.
Which Lounge Is Best in Gatwick North?
Compared to Clubrooms Gatwick South, the North Terminal version feels quieter and more intimate, but without runway views.
If you want:
Quiet luxury → Clubrooms Gatwick North
Brighter and more social → No1 Lounge Gatwick
Flexible mid-range with good views → Plaza Premium

Final Boarding Call
No showers. No natural daylight. Not ideal for very long layovers.
But that’s not the point,
This lounge is for:
Honeymoon departures
Birthday trips
“We didn’t book business class but we still deserve to feel important” moments.
For £39 with Priority Pass, it’s luxury for less at Gatwick Airport.
If you’re serious about Gatwick lounge access without premium credit card spend targets, this is the smartest way in.
Start your holiday before you take off, even if, like me, you’re boarding easyJet 3F.
The Smart Way Into Clubrooms (Without Paying £52)
Clubrooms costs £52 at the door.
With Priority Pass, it’s £39.
If you fly 2–5 times a year, Standard Plus usually makes the most sense (10 visits included).

Standard Plus usually makes the most sense for UK travellers, 10 visits included and still cheaper than paying £47+ each time.
