Cheap Flights to Mykonos: Best Airlines, Flight Deals & Travel Hacks
Airport lounges, free upgrades, travel chaos and the occasional meltdown. Real travel, not influencer nonsense.

Mykonos has a reputation for being eye-wateringly expensive. And yes…some beach clubs absolutely live up to that reputation.
But getting there? Often MUCH cheaper than people expect. I’ve personally found flights to Mykonos cheaper than train tickets across the UK, especially when travelling outside peak school holiday dates.
The trick is knowing:
when to book
which airports to fly from
how to avoid baggage fees
and where to find the best flight alerts before prices explode.
Because while influencers are busy spending €40 on beach cocktails…
…I’m usually somewhere nearby with:
hand luggage only
a cheap flight alert
lounge access
Here’s how I find cheap flights to Mykonos, plus the travel hacks I use to keep Greece surprisingly affordable.
Cheap Flights To Mykonos Under £100? Yes, They Absolutely Exist.
As this travel blog runs on affiliate links and diet coke, use Skyscanner to have a look at some of the amazing cheap flights to Mykonos for this summer.
Recent examples I found include:
London → Mykonos from around £48 return
London Luton → Mykonos from around £26 return
Manchester → Mykonos from around £94 return
easyJet fares from Manchester have dropped as low as £48–£59 return during quieter periods.
The key is avoiding:
peak school holiday weeks
Friday–Sunday travel where possible
and booking late for July and August.
Mykonos Tips: What I Wish I’d Known Before Visiting
Mykonos is BEAUTIFUL.
But it’s also one of those destinations where a bit of planning makes a massive difference.
Because once you arrive, you quickly realise:
taxis are limited
prices can be eye-watering
the airport is tiny
and travelling around the island can become surprisingly chaotic in peak summer.
So here are my biggest Plane Honest Mykonos tips.

*I bring the receipts
You Probably NEED Transport in Mykonos
One thing many people underestimate?
Getting around Mykonos can be surprisingly difficult without transport.
Taxis are:
limited
expensive
and often very hard to find during summer
Even Uber in Mykonos basically works through local taxi partnerships, so don’t expect:“London-level Uber convenience.” You can end up waiting ages.
Especially:
after beach clubs
late at night
or during cruise ship arrival days
That’s why many visitors either:
hire a small car
rent a moped or ATV
or strategically stay somewhere better connected.

Where To Stay in Mykonos
Personally, I think there are three main approaches to Mykonos.
Mykonos Town (Chora) – Best For Convenience & Nightlife
If you want:
restaurants
bars
nightlife
buses
shops
and easy connections
…Mykonos Town is probably the smartest option.
It’s lively, chaotic, beautiful and very walkable.
The bus system also connects surprisingly well from here to many beaches around the island.
Perfect if you:
don’t want to drive
plan to party
or want everything nearby
Just expect:
crowds
steep little streets
and prices that occasionally feel personally offensive.
Mykonos Beach Hotel
I booked my stay here through Lastminute.com and let me tell you, it was worth every penny. The location? Fantastic. It’s only a 10-minute walk to Mykonos Town, passing by charming shops and café bars along the way. Mykonos Beach Hotel Review
It’s also got its own little stretch of beach, Megali Ammos Beach, which was the perfect spot for a morning stroll with the sand between my toes.
The hotel managers were super friendly. My flight with Wizz Air arrived ridiculously early, and check-in wasn’t supposed to start until 12 PM. But, they let me check in at 10AM! That’s what I call good service.

Mykonos Airport Is TINY
One thing that genuinely surprised me?
How small Mykonos Airport actually is.
There really isn’t much there.
Expect:
one small coffee/snack area
limited seating
a fairly small duty free
queues during peak hours
and general summer airport chaos energy
This is NOT Singapore Changi, or even Gatwick South on a good day.
During summer, departures can feel extremely crowded very quickly, especially with:
multiple European flights leaving together
cruise traffic
and low-cost airline departures
So I’d definitely:
arrive earlier than you think
avoid leaving transport too late
and mentally prepare for a slightly chaotic airport experience.
Very Greek island, very beautiful, very:“why are 400 people standing beside one tiny gate?”
Flights To Mykonos From The UK
Direct UK routes to Mykonos now operate from airports including:
London Gatwick
London Luton
Manchester
Bristol
and occasionally regional airports seasonally.
Airlines flying direct from the UK include:
easyJet
Wizz Air
Jet2
British Airways
Wizz Air has even added additional Mykonos routes recently, including flights from London Luton, helping push prices lower during parts of the season.
easyJet is usually one of the biggest operators overall and often has some of the cheapest fares outside peak school holidays.
British Airways have direct flights from London Heathrow, is usually the more premium option with baggage and loyalty perks and maybe even some Avios points!
Flights To Mykonos From Europe
Mykonos is extremely well connected during summer across Europe.
Popular seasonal routes now operate from:
Rome
Milan
Venice
Naples
Berlin
Stockholm
Paris
Barcelona
Vienna
Bratislava
Amsterdam
Airlines flying these routes include:
Vueling Airlines
Aegean Airlines
ITA Airways
Aeroitalia
Wizz Air
Ryanair
One interesting recent addition is the direct Santorini to Mykonos route with Aegean Airlines, making Greek island hopping much easier without relying entirely on ferries.
Searches for:
Mykonos to Santorini
Mykonos to Paros
and Mykonos to Naples flights
have also increased massively recently as travellers combine multiple Mediterranean destinations into one trip.
Can You Fly To Mykonos From The USA?
There are currently no regular direct flights from the United States to Mykonos.
But Mykonos is very easy to reach via European hubs including:
London
Paris
Rome
Madrid
Athens
and Amsterdam
One route I think more American travellers should know about?
Norse Atlantic Airways operates seasonal nonstop flights between Athens and New York JFK using its Boeing 787 Dreamliner fleet. The route increases to up to 5 weekly flights during peak summer, helping make Greece much more accessible without paying traditional airline prices.
One-way fares can often start around:
$235–$265
depending on season
baggage
and how early you book.
That means one of the smartest Greece travel strategies can actually be:
New York → Athens with Norse Atlantic then
Athens → Mykonos with a separate low-cost flight or ferry.

The airline even highlights Athens as a connection point for Greek islands including:
Mykonos
Santorini
Crete
Naxos
and Milos.
I’ve flown Norse Atlantic myself and it’s definitely one of those airlines where knowing what to expect makes a huge difference.
The seats can actually be surprisingly comfortable, especially in Norse Premium, but the airline operates much more like a long-haul low-cost carrier than a traditional full-service airline.
Athens is still the easiest connection point overall if you’re combining Mykonos with wider Greece travel.

The perfect Bag for Cheap Flights to Mykonos
Cabin Max Metz 40 x 20 x 25cm
This bag has been a budget-traveller favourite for years. Lightweight, easy to carry, and a proper rectangular shape to maximise space. It comes in so many different colour options, I really like mine because of the padding it's really comfortable to carry around unlike so many others I've tried. I also like the straps at the side because if I've over packed, you can pull the straps in and compress it all.
With my exclusive 30% off lounge access deal (only £48 for a yearly pass), it practically pays for itself after just a couple of trips.
Final Boarding Call
Mykonos absolutely CAN be expensive.
But flights there really don’t have to be.
With a bit of flexibility, flight alerts and smart booking strategies, you can still find surprisingly cheap fares from the UK, especially outside peak summer weekends.
So whether you’re planning:
a party weekend
a luxury escape
a beach break
or just chasing some Greek sunshine for less
…Mykonos can still absolutely work on a realistic budget.
Just maybe avoid checking your bank account immediately after visiting the beach clubs.
