During a trip to Las Vegas I made the impulsive decision to visit one of the 7 wonders of the world the God Damn Grand Canyon! What better way to go than a helicopter excursion arranged by Viator.
I was picked up from my hotel by the Helicopter company who happened to have their own private helicopter terminal not far from my hotel in Las Vegas, I was staying at the Tropicana the journey was around 5 minute drive.
The helicopter was booked for 11am and everything was on time and seemed super organised!
I felt like a VIP! I opted for the champagne picnic meaning we would be landing on the grand canyon floor, by the west rim of the Grand Canyon in Nevada.
After take off I was pleasantly surprised as we briefly flew over the southern end of the Las Vegas Strip heading over Mandalay Bay and then the Tropicana (I could see my messy room!) then we headed, east of Las Vegas for around 30 minutes until we could see amazing views of the Hoover Damn, Lake Mead, Joshua Tree and The Grand Wash cliffs then another 10 to 15 minutes until you are in the Grand Canyon.
And WOW what a journey, it was vey smooth and so exciting! After around a 45 minute flight it was time for the helicopter to land in the Grand Canyon.
and time for a picnic in the Grand Canyon and a full on photo shoot of course! Their was 5 of us on our helicopter trip I was travelling solo but the other passengers were super friendly and we all got along, I would definitely recommend a helicopter trip from Las Vegas to solo travellers, couples, groups of friends it really doesn't matter.

After around an hour it was time to fly back! I have to say I had never been in a Helicopter before, but it felt very safe and the pilot was very professional and had years of experience.
It really was an incredible experience and helicopter tours to the Grand Canyon are worth the money. It was one of the best experiences of my life! If you are heading to Las Vegas put it on your list of things you must do in Las Vegas, in fact it has to be the number one thing to do in Las Vegas and the top tourist attraction and activity in Las Vegas!
