London’s busiest airport is about to get a little more French. Air France has opened a chic new lounge at Heathrow Airport, designed to bring a refined slice of Parisian elegance to one of the world’s busiest aviation hubs.
The new Air France Heathrow Terminal 4 lounge offers a calm, sophisticated space for travellers flying between London and Paris, with interiors inspired by the airline’s premium lounges at Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport.
The lounge focuses on French design, high-quality dining and quiet relaxation areas for passengers before boarding. Flying from Heathrow and wondering what lounges are available?
👉 I ranked the best ones here:
Located in Heathrow Terminal 4, the new Air France lounge joins an impressive collection of premium airline lounges, giving eligible SkyTeam passengers their own dedicated space before departure.

Inside the New Air France Heathrow Terminal Lounge
Designed in partnership with Air France teams and the creative agency SGK Brandimage, the lounge can accommodate around 150 guests. The concept focuses on creating a tranquil retreat from the busy terminal environment, allowing passengers to relax before departure or during connections.
The lounge design aims to reflect Air France’s brand identity with:
• elegant seating areas
• refined lighting and interior design
• comfortable spaces to relax or work
• a calm, boutique-style lounge atmosphere
Rather than feeling like a typical airport waiting area, the goal is to recreate the feeling of a Parisian hotel lounge inside the terminal. Considering flying with Air France? Read my full Air France Premium Economy review: Oui to Champagne, Non to Ordinary
French Dining and Champagne Before Departure
Food and drink play a major role in the lounge experience.
Air France showcases elements of French culinary culture through dedicated dining areas featuring:
• curated French dishes
• a selection of wines
• premium champagne
• café-style dining spaces
A spacious bar offers a carefully selected range of French wines and champagne, giving travellers the chance to enjoy a final taste of France before boarding.
For travellers seeking relaxation, the lounge also includes wellness spaces and quiet seating areas designed to offer a break from the noise of the airport.
Separate workspaces allow business travellers to stay productive before their flight.

Who Can Access the Air France Heathrow Lounge?
Access to the new Air France Heathrow lounge will be reserved for eligible premium passengers and frequent flyers.
This includes:
• Air France La Première passengers
• Air France Business Class passengers
• Flying Blue Elite Plus members
• eligible passengers flying with KLM and other SkyTeam airlines
This reflects the collaborative nature of airline alliances, where premium travellers can access lounges across partner airlines.
Why Heathrow Is So Important for Air France
London Heathrow remains one of Air France’s most strategically important European routes.
The airline currently operates up to seven daily flights between London Heathrow and Paris, connecting passengers to destinations worldwide via its Paris hub.
Air France has also expanded its London presence even further by launching twice-daily flights from London Gatwick, strengthening connections between the UK and France.
For travellers connecting through Paris, the route provides easy onward access to destinations across Europe, Africa and Asia.

Heathrow Lounges Without Business Class
Not every traveller passing through Heathrow is flying in business class. Fortunately, several lounges at the airport can still be accessed by economy passengers through lounge memberships or paid entry.
One example is the Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 4, which offers a comfortable place to relax before departure with food, drinks and runway views.
You can read my full review here:

Many frequent travellers also use lounge membership programmes to access lounges across multiple terminals.
If you're researching your options, you can read my guide to Priority Pass Heathrow lounges, which explains which lounges you can access across the airport and how membership works.
How Does the Air France Lounge Compare with Other Heathrow Terminal 4 Lounges?
Heathrow Terminal 4 is home to some of the airport's most impressive premium lounges, and the new Air France Lounge adds another excellent option for eligible travellers.
Passengers flying with Air France can now enjoy a dedicated SkyTeam lounge alongside several other well-established airline lounges in the terminal. These include the elegant Qatar Airways Premium Lounge, the exclusive Qatar Airways First Lounge, the stylish Etihad Lounge, the Saudia Lounge, and the independently operated Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 4, which is also available to many Priority Pass members and travellers paying for entry.
If you're flying from Heathrow Terminal 4, there's now an impressive range of lounge options available, whether you're travelling in Business Class, hold elite frequent flyer status or simply want to purchase lounge access before your flight.

Plane Tip: How to Access Heathrow Lounges Without Flying Business Class
Airport lounges are not just for business-class passengers anymore. Many travellers now use lounge membership programmes to access lounges across Heathrow, including third-party lounges in several terminals.
Membership programmes such as Priority Pass allow travellers to enter lounges regardless of airline or cabin class.
For frequent flyers passing through Heathrow multiple times a year, lounge access can quickly transform the airport experience.
Instead of waiting at crowded departure gates, you can relax with food, drinks, Wi-Fi and comfortable seating before boarding.

Air France Flights from Heathrow to Paris
The London-Paris route remains one of the busiest air corridors in Europe.
Passengers flying with Air France typically connect through Paris Charles de Gaulle, which acts as the airline’s main international hub.
For travellers continuing onward to other destinations, Paris offers global connections across the Air France network.

Getting To Heathrow Terminal 4
One of the biggest Heathrow mistakes people make is leaving transport planning until the last minute. If you’re travelling from central London, the:

Heathrow Express
is still the fastest option overall and if you book tickets around: 30 days in advance
…you can often save a surprising amount compared to last-minute fares.
Let's be honest, very few of us remember to book Heathrow Express 30 days in advance. However, doing so can reduce the fare from around £26 to as little as £10, making it well worth setting a reminder.

Heathrow Airport Parking
If you're driving to Heathrow, I recommend booking official Heathrow Airport parking in advance, which offers flexible cancellation up to two hours before travel.
Heathrow parking prices can become VERY expensive closer to departure.
London Heathrow Lounge Reviews:
Hilton Garden Inn Heathrow
This Heathrow airport hotel is perfect for jetting off from Heathrow terminal 4, full Hilton Garden Inn Heathrow review. It's only a short free train or bus journey from Terminal 4, making it an excellent value alternative to hotels directly attached to the terminal.

Even better, if you're not already collecting Hilton Honors points, there's currently a limited-time 50,000 Hilton Honors points welcome bonus available on the Hilton Honors Plus Debit Card. Depending on how you redeem them, that's enough for a free night at many Hilton hotels, including airport stays before an early flight.

Final Boarding Call
Air France's new Heathrow lounge brings a stylish slice of Paris to one of the world's busiest airports. With space for around 150 guests, French-inspired dining and quiet relaxation areas, the lounge aims to provide a refined pre-flight experience for premium travellers flying between London and Paris.
I'll be visiting soon to publish a full Plane Honest review, covering the food, seating, atmosphere and whether it's worth seeking out before your next flight. Someone has to do these things, right?
