Let’s be honest, navigating Heathrow can feel like a marathon. Whether it’s long check-in lines, chaotic security checks, or trying to find a seat in the terminals hustle and bustle, it can all get a bit much. That’s where the Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow Terminal 5 comes in.
I recently had the chance to check out this lounge, and it might just be one of the best airport lounges at Heathrow!(well maybe terminal 5) Spacious, spotless, and oh-so-comfortable, thanks to my Priority Pass, getting in was a breeze!

Location and How to Get There
The Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5 is conveniently located on Level 2 in the Departures area. After passing through security, just follow the signs for lounges, and you’ll spot it.
It’s open daily from 5:00 am to 10:00 pm.

Plane Tip: If you have a Priority Pass, you can skip the hassle and walk right in. I barely waited a second before being welcomed inside. No queues, no stress, just straight into lounge mode!
First Impressions: Space and Ambiance
First off, this place was a MUCH BIGGER SPACE than I was expecting. The moment I walked in, I was greeted by an airy, open layout that instantly felt relaxing. Unlike some cramped airport lounges at Heathrow, the Plaza Premium Lounge has plenty of seating options – from comfy armchairs to tables perfect for eating or working.
What stood out most was the cleanliness I didn’t spot a single uncollected plate or cup, and the staff were constantly tidying up without being intrusive.

Personal Experience: From Entry to Relaxation
After my swift check-in, I took a minute to take it all in. The first thing that hit me was how calming and stress free it felt compared to the terminal outside. I found a comfy seat and took out my laptop to catch up on emails, the Wi-Fi was reliable and noticeably faster than the terminal's public network. Unlike other Heathrow Airport Lounges, Plaza Premium have their own super fast reliable wifi.

As a travel content creator, I often need to stay connected, and having reliable internet is a game-changer. The dedicated Plaza Premium Lounge Wi-Fi meant I could upload content quickly and effortlessly and there were plenty of charging points too.

Food and Drink: More Than Just an English Breakfast
Now, we all know airport lounge food can be hit or miss, but the Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow has seriously upped its game. The presentation is on point – think Le Creuset-style pots filled with steaming hot dishes.
If you’re not into the classic cooked English breakfast, no worries – there’s a wide range of alternatives:
Fresh salads and cheeses
Hearty soups
Cakes and pastries
Fruit and healthy snacks

Everything is well labeled, so you’ll know exactly what’s what just in case you do have an allergy or your a lactose free flexitarian like me!
I have to admit, I was way too full to eat much (silly mistake after having a pre-lounge meal), but the variety looked genuinely impressive. Plus, the lounge was well-stocked – no half-empty trays in sight!
Drinks: There’s a manned bar serving everything from draft beer to prosecco, plus a range of soft drinks, coffees, and teas. As always, responsibly indulge!
