Review: No 1 Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3, Calm, Classy, and Consistent

Once you’re through security in Heathrow Terminal 3, follow signs for Lounge F and Gates 13–22. The No 1 Lounge sits one floor up, easily reached by lift or stairs.
It’s open daily from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m., perfectly timed for both early-bird departures and late-night long-hauls.

Step inside and you’ll immediately feel the difference: open layout, floor-to-ceiling windows, and calm lighting that makes you forget Heathrow’s chaos below.
The vibe? Understated luxury. Recently refreshed interiors with walnut tones, soft lighting, and just enough polish to feel premium without pretending it’s a first-class lounge.
Even on a busy Friday evening, I found it remarkably peaceful, the kind of space where you instinctively take a deep breath and think, “Ah, this is more like it.”

Whether you’re on business, wrangling teenagers, or simply decompressing, the lounge has a zone for you:
Quiet Library: A hushed, book-lined area ideal for reading or catching up on work.
Family Room: Separate and sound-controlled (12 yrs + only), with a huge TV for films or cartoons, parents can finally sip fizz in peace.
Work Booths & Meeting Corners: Great for Teams calls or those last-minute email flurries.
Bar & Social Space: For everyone else pretending they’re still on holiday.
There’s proper daylight, tons of sockets, and plenty of seating. It genuinely feels designed rather than patched together.
Food & Drink, Healthy Before 30,000 Feet!
Here’s where No 1 Lounge Heathrow T3 surprised me. The food is genuinely fresh, light, balanced, and ideal before a flight.
Highlights:
Signature tomato soup, fresh, zesty, and comforting (my favourite from the Gatwick North lounge). I don't even like tomatoes!
Nut roast, flavourful even if you’re not vegan, trust me!
Pancake machine, iconic, loved equally by kids and 49-ish travel bloggers.
Fresh salads, pastries, and warm mains rotated throughout the day.
It’s exactly the kind of pre-flight food you should eat, light, not the salty, stodgy stuff that leaves you dehydrated at 30,000 ft.
The bar is well stocked, sparkling rosé and wines on pour, draft beer, and spirits all free though cocktails weren’t available on my visit.
Facilities & Extras, Showers, Charging and Views
Airfield Views: Grab a window seat and enjoy take-off theatre.
Power Points: Everywhere. Even beside the comfiest chairs.
Bathrooms: Spotless, modern, and well-kept. (no showers)
Wi-Fi: Uses Heathrow’s network.
Staff: Efficient & friendly.
