Flying British Airways Euroflyer from Gatwick to Ibiza
Ibiza might be famous for its nightlife, but getting there can actually be surprisingly affordable.
On a recent trip to the island, I flew British Airways Euroflyer from London Gatwick to Ibiza a short-haul flight that sits somewhere between a traditional British Airways experience and a low-cost airline model.
Here’s what the experience was actually like.
Flight Details
Airline: British Airways Euroflyer
Flight: BA2682
Route: London Gatwick (LGW) → Ibiza (IBZ)
Aircraft: Airbus A320
Flight time: Approximately 2 hours 20 minutes
Euroflyer is British Airways’ Gatwick-based short-haul subsidiary, designed to compete with low-cost airlines while still offering some of the perks associated with BA.
If you're wondering how Euroflyer differs from the main airline, I explain it fully here:
How I Found Cheap Flights to Ibiza
Flights to Ibiza can sometimes be surprisingly cheap if you know where to look.
One of the tools I personally use is Jack’s Flight Club, which alerts members whenever unusually cheap flights appear, including deals to destinations like Ibiza, Mallorca and other Mediterranean hotspots.
Some of these deals are genuinely ridiculous.
I’ve seen London to Ibiza flights for under £30 return when the alerts come through.
It’s one of the easiest ways to find cheap flights without constantly searching airline websites.

Arriving at Gatwick Airport
This flight departed from London Gatwick South Terminal, which is where all British Airways flights from Gatwick operate.

For this trip I arrived early enough to visit the Clubrooms lounge, which was a great way to start the journey.
Boarding the Flight
Boarding was slightly delayed due to slot restrictions, something that can happen during busy travel periods at Gatwick.
Once on board the Airbus A320, I noticed the cabin was surprisingly empty for an August flight, probably around 30% full. That’s a rare luxury during peak summer travel.
The quieter cabin made the experience far more relaxed than the typical packed short-haul flight.

The cabin's cleanliness left much to be desired. While the aircraft bore the British Airways branding, the upkeep didn't quite match the expected standards. Seats showed signs of wear, and certain areas could have benefited from a more thorough cleaning.

BA Cabin & Seating
The cabin layout is identical to most British Airways short-haul aircraft, with the standard 3-3 economy seating configuration.
Legroom was fairly typical for a European flight, not generous, but perfectly manageable for the short journey to Ibiza.
Plane Tip: avoid the last row, which doesn’t recline. If the person in front reclines, it can make an already tight space feel more restrictive.

BA Onboard Service
Euroflyer operates a buy-on-board service in economy, similar to most European airlines.
Passengers can purchase food and drinks from the menu, which includes options like:
• Tom Kerridge’s Coronation Chicken sandwich
• Sweet & Spicy Falafel wraps
• snacks and soft drinks
While I didn’t buy anything on this flight, British Airways still provided complimentary water and a small snack, which is a small but welcome touch.
Passengers flying in Club Europe receive a more traditional BA service with meals and drinks included.

British Airways Baggage Allowance
One of the biggest advantages of flying BA Euroflyer compared with many budget airlines is the generous cabin baggage allowance.
Passengers can bring:
• 1 cabin bag (56 x 45 x 25 cm)
• 1 personal item (40 x 30 x 15 cm)
That means you can travel with two bags without paying extra, something many low-cost airlines charge for.
If you're unsure about BA baggage rules, I explain them in detail here:
Cabin Baggage:
One cabin bag (max dimensions: 56 x 45 x 25 cm, including handles and wheels).
Maximum weight: 23 kg.
This is perfect fit under the cabin bag dimensions: 56 x 45 x 25 cm, I've been using the Cabin Max Anode for over a year and it's the perfect fit for British Airways Euroflyer Short-Haul carry on luggage item.
👉 See the Cabin Max Anode that fits British Airways cabin rules
It is so light weight, it has 360 spinning wheels so I can push or pull it around the airport and place my small underseat bag on top of it. It has a well made lock to keep all my items secure. For the price as well it is excellent quality and comes in so many different colours!
BA baggage Personal Item:
One additional small personal item (e.g, handbag, laptop bag, or backpack).
Must fit under the seat in front (max dimensions: 40 x 30 x 15 cm).
Cabin Max METZ 20L Under seat Bag (40 x 20 x 25 cm) is perfect for British Airways Euroflyer economy personal bag size requirements
You can find more information about this bag Right Here
It comes in so many different colour option
You can keep everything super organised, I love that it is really padded well so it's very comfortable on your back all day long and this comes in so many different colours.
Checked Baggage (if purchased or included):
Standard allowance: One checked bag up to 23 kg.
Larger bags (up to 32 kg) can be added for an additional fee.
British Airways Club members flying with BA Euroflyer, the airline’s Gatwick-based subsidiary, can earn Avios and tier points on eligible flights, unlike most low-cost carriers.
Using the British Airways Executive Club login, members can manage their accounts and track rewards. The British Airways Executive Club and Avios Points Calculator helps estimate earnings on specific routes, simplifying reward planning. Members can also redeem Avios for Reward Flights and enjoy benefits like priority boarding and lounge access, enhancing their travel experience.

Arrival in Ibiza
Despite the small boarding delay, the flight itself was smooth and we landed in Ibiza without any further issues.
Disembarkation was quick, helped by the light passenger load and within minutes we were stepping out into the warm Balearic sunshine.
If you're planning a trip, I’ve written a few other Ibiza guides that might help:

So, is British Airways Euroflyer Worth It?
British Airways Euroflyer occupies an interesting middle ground between traditional full-service airlines and low-cost carriers.
You still get:
• the reliability of the BA brand
• Avios and tier points
• a generous cabin baggage allowance
But the onboard service is more similar to budget airlines.
For many travellers, that balance works well especially on short routes like Ibiza.

Plane Tips for Flying BA Euroflyer
Use the baggage allowance wiselyY
You can bring both a cabin bag and a personal item, which gives you far more flexibility than most budget airlines.
Avoid the last row
Limited seat recline can make the flight less comfortable.
Consider lounge access at Gatwick
If you want to start the trip in a more relaxed way.
BA Euroflyer offers a balanced blend of cost-effectiveness and the trusted BA experience. With minor enhancements, it has the potential to set a new standard in short-haul travel from Gatwick.
PlaneTip:British Airways Economy,Get a phone holder clip and watch something on your phone hands free, it clips on to British Airways economy seats perfectly! They are so cheap and will really transform your economy flight experience!
Finding Cheap Flights to Ibiza
One of the best tools I use to find cheap flights is Jack’s Flight Club.
They alert members whenever unusually cheap flights appear, sometimes saving hundreds compared with normal fares.

If you fancy checking out all of the hidden gems in Ibiza and not just drinking and clubbing, then this tour is for you! I loved it, Ibiza has such an amazing spiritual energy and theirs so much to the island apart from dance music! Check out the details i highly recommend it!

Final Boarding Call
Flying British Airways Euroflyer from London Gatwick to Ibiza offers a solid balance between affordability and the familiarity of the BA brand.
While the experience isn’t quite the same as traditional British Airways flights, the generous baggage allowance and ability to earn Avios still make it a strong option for short-haul travel.
For a quick trip to Ibiza, it does the job perfectly.
