Heathrow's Most Accessible Premium Lounge Brand?

If you've flown through Heathrow recently, chances are you've spotted a Plaza Premium Lounge. Located at Heathrow in:

Terminal 2.

Terminal 4.

Terminal 5.

Even an arrivals lounge at Terminal 3.

But here's the real question: Are the Plaza Premium Lounges at Heathrow actually worth visiting, or are they just expensive waiting rooms with free coffee?

Over the last couple of years I've visited Plaza Premium lounges across Heathrow and around the world. I've sampled the food, tested the Wi-Fi, inspected the prosecco (strictly for research purposes, obviously) and compared them against other Heathrow lounge options.

So if you're wondering whether to book one, use your Priority Pass, or simply sit in the terminal and save your money, here's my Plane Honest verdict.

Plaza Premium Lounges at Heathrow

Which Heathrow Terminals Have Plaza Premium Lounges?

One thing many travellers don't realise is that Heathrow doesn't have one Plaza Premium Lounge. It has several.

Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 2

The most stylish of the bunch. Beautiful décor, sophisticated design and a genuinely premium atmosphere. The downside? It can get busy and feels smaller than you'd expect for one of Heathrow's busiest terminals.

Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 2

Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 4

A solid all-rounder. Good food, runway views, shower facilities and excellent value if you're using Priority Pass.

The downside is that it can feel crowded during peak periods.

Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Terminal 5

It's larger, brighter and feels noticeably more relaxed than many Heathrow lounges.

The food selection is excellent, the bar is well stocked and there's plenty of room to spread out.

This one's slightly different. Instead of helping you relax before departure, it's designed to help you recover after landing.

With showers, seating and refreshments, it's ideal after an overnight flight.

What Do You Actually Get Inside?

All Heathrow Plaza Premium lounges offer the basics you'd expect:

Included Food

Expect a buffet with hot and cold options.

Across my visits I've seen:

  • Full English breakfast items

  • Soups

  • Salads

  • Cheese boards

  • Pastries

  • Cakes

  • Sandwiches

  • Hot meals

Is it Michelin-star dining? No. Is it significantly better than spending £15 on a sandwich and drink in the terminal? Absolutely.

Included Drinks

Most Plaza Premium lounges include:

  • Beer

  • Wine

  • House spirits

  • Tea

  • Coffee

  • Soft drinks

Some premium drinks may carry an additional charge. Most importantly: The prosecco usually flows freely. Which is exactly the kind of airport hydration strategy I can get behind.

Wi-Fi and Charging

All Heathrow Plaza Premium lounges offer:

  • Fast Wi-Fi

  • Power sockets

  • USB charging

As someone who regularly uploads content before flights, I've generally found Plaza Premium's Wi-Fi more reliable than Heathrow's public network.

Are Plaza Premium Lounges Better Than Sitting in the Terminal?

Let's do some Heathrow maths. A typical Heathrow departure can easily involve:

  • Breakfast: £12

  • Coffee: £5

  • Beer or wine: £8+

  • Somewhere comfortable to sit: good luck

Suddenly you've spent £25–£35 and you're still sitting in a noisy departure area listening to boarding announcements.

A lounge gives you:

  • Unlimited food

  • Drinks

  • Comfortable seating

  • Wi-Fi

  • Charging points

  • A quieter environment

For me, that's where the value starts to make sense. Especially during delays.

Which Heathrow Plaza Premium Lounge Is Best?

After visiting them myself, here's how I'd rank them.

Plaza Premium Lounge Terminal 2

My favourite overall. Why?

  • Best atmosphere

  • Excellent food offering

  • Less stressful experience

Plaza Premium Lounge Terminal 5

If you're flying from Terminal 5 but don't have access to the British Airways lounges through Club Europe, Club World or status, Plaza Premium is easily one of the best independent lounge options available.

Plaza Premium Lounge Terminal 4

Still a very good lounge. The runway views and shower facilities are excellent if you are on a long layover at Heathrow.

It just lacks the space and when I visited it was super overcrowded.

Plaza Premium Heathrow

Blush Lounge by Plaza Premium at Heathrow Terminal 4

You might also come across the Blush Lounge by Plaza Premium Group at Heathrow Terminal 4. Located near Gate 2 in the departures area, it promises runway views, complimentary food and drinks, and a quieter alternative to the main terminal. I haven't visited this lounge myself, so I can't give it a full Mr Plane Guy review.

What I can tell you is that recent traveller feedback has been mixed at best.

Several passengers have criticised:

  • Limited food choices

  • Poor gluten-free options

  • A lack of charging points

  • Crowded conditions during busy periods

  • Drinks selections that failed to impress

One reviewer even suggested they would have been better off spending their money in Wetherspoons.

That's quite a contrast to my experiences in the Plaza Premium Lounges at Heathrow Terminals 4 and 5, both of which offered significantly stronger food, more space and a much more premium overall experience.

Until I visit Blush Lounge myself, I'd personally be leaning towards the main Plaza Premium Lounge if you have the choice.

Which Plaza Premium Lounge Accepts Priority Pass?

The good news is that most Plaza Premium departure lounges at Heathrow participate in Priority Pass, making them one of the easiest ways to use your membership. If you're looking for Priority Pass lounges at Heathrow, Plaza Premium should be one of your first stops.

Which Plaza Premium Lounge Heathrow Accepts Priority Pass? Mr Plane Guy with a Priority Pass.

Is Priority Pass Worth It for Heathrow?

This is where things get interesting.

Most Heathrow Plaza Premium lounges charge around £40–£50 for a single visit if you book directly.

Visit a couple of times a year and the costs quickly add up.

That's why I generally recommend looking at Priority Pass instead.

Benefits include:

  • Access to Plaza Premium lounges

  • Access to over 1,800 lounges worldwide

  • Heathrow restaurant discounts

  • Airport spa benefits

  • Flexible membership options

If you're flying from Heathrow regularly, it often works out significantly cheaper than paying at the door each time.

Can You Book Plaza Premium Heathrow Directly?

Yes.

If you don't have Priority Pass, you can book directly through Plaza Premium.

In fact, I also have a direct booking partnership with Plaza Premium, so if you prefer pay-as-you-go access without an annual membership, that's another option worth considering.

For occasional travellers, direct booking can make perfect sense.

For frequent travellers, Priority Pass usually offers better long-term value.

Heathrow Lounge Alternatives

While Plaza Premium is one of the strongest lounge brands at Heathrow, there are other excellent options.

Depending on your terminal, alternatives include:

  • Clubrooms Heathrow Terminal 3

  • No1 Lounge Heathrow Terminal 3

  • Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse

  • Aspire Lounges

  • British Airways Galleries Lounges

I've reviewed many of them and compared them in my complete Heathrow lounge guide.

Just want to visit a lounge once?

Book directly with Plaza Premium and pay only for the visit you need.

Flying three or four times a year or more?

That's usually the point where I start looking at Priority Pass instead. One membership can often work out cheaper than paying lounge entry fees every trip.

FAQs

Are Plaza Premium Lounges at Heathrow worth it?

Yes.

They're clean, comfortable and offer good food and drinks. I wouldn't pay for every visit, but using Priority Pass can make them excellent value.

Does Priority Pass work at Heathrow Plaza Premium Lounges?

Yes, most Heathrow Plaza Premium departure lounges accept Priority Pass.

Which Heathrow Plaza Premium Lounge is best?

Terminal 5 is my personal favourite thanks to its size, atmosphere and food offering.

Does Plaza Premium Heathrow have showers?

Terminal 4 offers shower facilities and the Terminal 3 Arrivals Lounge is specifically designed for travellers wanting to freshen up after a flight.

Can anyone use Plaza Premium Heathrow?

Yes you can pay directly, pre-book online or access many lounges through Priority Pass.

Is Plaza Premium Better Than No1 Lounge?

Very similar concepts. Considering Heathrow Terminal 3 doesn't have a Plaza Premium Lounge, I think No1 Lounge is the best alternative. In fact, No1 Lounge Terminal 3 remains one of my favourite Heathrow lounges.

Is Plaza Premium Better Than Aspire Lounge?

As far as I know Aspire is only at Heathrow Terminal 5 and I think Plaza Premium in Terminal 5 is slightly better. The food seemed better quality, they have self service draught beers and sparkling wine is included.

Heathrow Airport Lounge Reviews

Final Boarding Call

So, are the Plaza Premium Lounges at Heathrow worth a pre-flight visit? Plane Honest? Yes. None of them are perfect. Terminal 2 can get crowded.

Terminal 4 could do with more space. Terminal 5 occasionally gets busy too.

But every single one beats sitting at the gate hunting for a power socket while paying Heathrow prices for lunch.

If you're flying from Heathrow regularly, lounge access is one of the easiest upgrades you can make to your travel experience and if you're only going to try one? Make it Terminal 2. It's still my favourite Plaza Premium Lounge at Heathrow.

Happy travels, and I'll see you in the lounge.
